I was at the range yesterday and a guy had one of the new bushmaster acr's that he had just picked up. I got to burn a clip through it and loved it!. he was using open sights and just messing around with cheap ammo so accuracy wasn't a big issue to him. I was just wondering if anyone had a chance to use it yet? I was wanting a sig 556 but the acr seemed so light and i love the slide release on them!! any input??

Re: bushmaster acr??

Get the Sig 556, and put the money you save into ammo, and a carbine class. I have handled the ACR, and was not impressed for the $$$$$. Magpul designed it to be 1500.00 rifle, not a 2500.00 one. As always, just my .02. JPG

Re: bushmaster acr??

They are great rifles by all accounts. WAY overpriced currently. Very modular once all the parts come out. Accurate enough and multi cal capable, eventually.

For me the price of admission is out of line. SCAR or Robinson Arms XCR or SIG556 is cheaper allowing you to get great F****** optics and a ton of ammo for the same price.

Dont get me wrong I want one but not at the current price. The non folding stock and lack of rails on the first model was a bit of a downer.

Some good reviews on M4carbine.net

Good advice. Or get a well-built but cheap standard AR15 carbine with iron sights, and put that balance into ammo and training. A couple of grand will get you some good training.

Re: bushmaster acr??

i went and priced out the acr locally.. man i can't wait to get out of california!! that gun is 600 dollars more than what im seeing them go for in other states!! all because of a bullet button!! three more months and ill be in wyoming, can't wait to say good buy to the gun laws!!

Re: bushmaster acr??

I have shot the Bushmaster ACR and the FN SCAR, if that is type of rifle that you want, please don't waist your time with the ACR. The SCAR fit and finsh is not eveninthe same league. The Scar has the same accuracy of a high end AR, the ACR, no way. The trigger is ok for both. Over all, the ACR is built cheap!
