Bushnell 1600 rangefinder any good?

In the market to up grade my rangefinder. Looks t be a nice one. Any tthoughts?

I love mine man- for the money I can't see where you can go wrong. Some people bitch about a little bit of a tint in the glass but it does not bother me a bit. I have the 42mm binos. If you do go to buy a pair- I had SWFA do the 110% price match deal and I got like 275.00 off of their list price... Every little bit helps. I used a link like this:

I've had a set of Bushnell ARC 1600 RF Binos for a little over a year. I used them extensively on a prairie dog shoot and didn't have any issues consistently ranging Yuca plants and decent size dog berms out to 1000 yds. I didn't range plants or berms beyond that as the terrain didn't allow it. Ranging buildings and such out to 1600 a breeze.

I bought mine primarily for their RF capabilities and am totally pleased. The glass is so so as far as the binos go so if your primary use is for the bino aspect you may be less than satisfied.

I have the Bushnell 1600 Elite ARC, it ranges quite nicely. I have ranged out to 1724yds "huge rock" and have found it easily range steel targets out to 700yds. The glass is ok for a rangefinder, seems like they use some sort of dark coating on it to allow for a brighter display. Using this coating makes the image a little darker and not as clear as higher priced range finders. I wish the display was a little brighter as it gets washed out if it is really bright outside. I wish they utilized an internal sunshade or had the ability to screw one into it. I like mine and see no reason to purchase a more expensive unit, unless I was in ELR game 1500yds+++.

A lot of Chinese hackers will make fake websites and place them onto the cloud driven virtual servers. They will draw you to the website with really cheap prices but prices that are not to cheap. The end goal is for them to get your credit card info or more. These websites can be up for awhile as they can be tricky to shutdown due to the amount of mirror virtual servers.

Long Story Short Don't use them stay with the Hide vendors.

If you to the contact us link on a website and it doesn't give you any information but only asks you for yours it wouldn't be a good idea to order anything from them.

As far the the Fusion 1600 I love mine. They do have a tint to them, but they are clear and accurate. The adjustable display is great for ranging at night or any other time. You wont be disappointed

Good gear for the money.
I've ranged large reflective targets (rocks, trailers)at just over a mile. Whitetail to 600ish. Trees at 1400, or so.
And, I don't need a separate set of binos. The glass is decent enough for scanning.

Overall I'm happy with Bushnell Fusion, and unlike some others I don't feel the glass too dark or tinted. Yeah it's not Carl Zeiss, but good enough for my purposes.

However it p***ed me off last week at the range. I was lasing standard paper targets between 30m and 100m away from my spot to verify the distance for rifle zeroing. It did get me the range - but took three or more attempts to get the range to one target. One thing - the sun was fairly low (mid-afternoon) and at approximately 2 o'clock, which I'm sure made the LRF's life that much more difficult.

I don't have personal experience with 1500 - but people say that Fusion 1600 smokes 1500 right out of the water (i.e., is a <span style="text-decoration: underline">much</span> better/more capable unit). With 1600 bino I managed to range an overflying airplane at 1900m (could not repeat that accomplishment though).

In short, using Bushnell you'd probably be much happier with Fusion 1600 ARC (Bino LRF).

Then of course there's Vectronix.

People say long range RF benefit from a tripod, this is supposed to be a 1600yd finder on reflective objects, I wonder how much better it could get...

It works and works well, is clear, brightness settings work great, I was ranging trees half N hour before sunrise in very dim lighting, 1600 no problem. Sun came out, changed the brightness and got the 1800+, again 1600 no problem.

I do wish it had mils to go along with the moa/in./cm

DONT!!!.. the 1500 and 1600 have TOTALY diffrent lazers in them, i had the 1500, it was ehhhhh... out to 1100

my 1600 will do 1800+ easy..

How in the heck do you adjust the display? I can't see it at all if its real bright out!

I love my Arc 1600s though! I have ranged a cliff face at over 2000 yards and steel targets out to 1300.

Like I said, I just wish the display was brighter and I don't see how to adjust it anywhere!

The "Mode" button adjusts the brightness.

It's spelled out pretty well in the manual.

I laughed at this because I've seen guys give it a bad review for basic shit pointed out right in the manual, a 3rd grader could figure it out, but for some people that is still too difficult...

My 1600 binocs will out range my Swarovski laser guides every time and faster. The glass isn't as good but the field of view makes up for it.

I used the bino's from a friend one weekend out shooting, the rangefinder in them are awesome easy to range I was able to range all the way out to 1600 yards as what they say, but the only thing i didn't like about them is that the glass to my eyes had a green tint to them, other than that they worked good.

Everybody notes the green/blue tint I have a set on order and will check it out when they get here.

Could that green/blue tint be a laser filter? My ARMY issued binos have a blue tint and are laser proof. (on the battlefield there are a shit load of lasers going off and the filter blocks incoming lasers that could blind you)

I know Bushnell made these or had the Military test these binos and maybe they installed the laser proof coating (which gives a blue tint) to meet spec?

Some say the tint is a coating that reflects the red display, I have the Bushnell Yardage pro scope with range finder and the display is red and it has no tint...

That scope is bad ass by the way, For a 500 yard and closer there is no faster setup than the Yardage Pro with LRF and BDC turrets, no thinking involved, Shoot the laser, dile the turret to the yards and fire.

Everybody keeps talking about the tint. I personally find it a non-issue from usability point of view. For me a greater issue is hesitation in giving me the range, and having to try several times until the number pops up (FWIW, I don't range skyscrapers and water towers

).

Yes, the filter idea makes sense.

BTW, I've ranged ducks at 160m and 240m with Fusion 1600, but not reliably.

a duck is really small. has a bullseye mode to pickup small objects, like deer in field infront of treeline.

Well...

On one shoot it ranged flawlessly (if with some hesitation) steel plates up to 1000 yards. The sun was initially behind, then moved to approximately 9 o'clock.

On another one (with the sun shining almost into the glass - fairly low above the horizon at around 4pm and located at 2 o'clock from my position) it took several struggling attempts to validate the range to plywood & cardboard sheets 3 ft x 2 ft at 29 yards and 100 yards...

Overall it's a good LRF, I'd say. But when the SHTF, you probably want Vectronix...
