Placed order for this scope on thursday 14th, got email today that its backordered. Oh well maybe my SS 5-20 will get here first.

newb question but how suited is this for a starter scope on a 308? whats its capabilities/limits?

This is a great scope, clear ,simple.... I comfortably shot steels to ~ 800 yards and didn't feel at a disadvantage...
The one I had tracked correctly and returned to zero......
the only bummer on this one is mismatched knobs/reticle...but for the price and with rings,that is minor......

That is a phenomenal prices for that scope. I have been running this on an AR for a little over 2 years now, and is has perfromed without a hitch. Turrets are crisp. The turrets and reticle don't match, but for the price, it does not matter. It sure would not stop me from picking one up at the price that SWFA is offering them for, and even with rings.

I used mine on my .308 to 1k no problem. Glass is clear, tracks perfectly, plenty of travel for a .308.
