Rifle Scopes Bushnell Elite 6500

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

from what i've heard, go the 4200 Elites.
Thats what im mounting on my FLCP-K .308

Whats your reason for owning it? What are you mounting it on? What do you plan to use it for? How often do you shoot? Whats your budget?

No scope expert but would probably help alot to the more knowledgeable guys here to maybe give you some advice.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I think they're fine if you can find a deal. As usual with Bushnell scopes mine gets dim and a bit fuzzy @ 30 power.....but I got it figuring it would be decent at around 24 or so....

I got it for 40% off. I got the MultiX version and decided what I really wanted was the tactical with the large exposed turrets and mildots. I just shipped it in yesterday for even exchange.....can't beat that program.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

i have the 6500 30x and it does get dim at 30x but for the most part i really like it. I am in the market for a 4200 6x24 ILL now though. I dont't the the 6500 comes in an ILL model.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I have lots of experience with all the mid-priced scopes and the
6500 2x16 and the Burris 3x12 XTR are among the best out there
for price/value--I would love to have USO AND PREMIER etc but
cant afford just yet--have a few IOR's so I am moving up---love the Bushnell and Burris listed above 'cause when I am expecting
250 to 400 yd shots on coyotes and a 50 yd bobcat or 25 yd fox shows up I can still get them in the scope quickly. IMHO Burris
is the new (old) Leopold

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I have a Bushnell Elite 6500 30x Tactical (SFP) and I am loving it. So far I have eyed the scope only in broad, desert, afternoon light, facing east. From the lowest power setting to the highest the image is clear and crisp completely to the edge. The side focus and power adjustments are smooth and very operable, even when on the trigger. I mention this because I have a high end scope that requires grasping either feature and torquing the heck out of it to adjust. I could go on about the advantages I have found equitable to my higher end scopes (IOR, NF) but I am not well schooled in the product review writing arts. One of the other biggest advantages I want to highlight is the price. A quick internet search can yield GREAT results, it did for me. On the opposite end, the only possible disadvantage I have found, is the lack of an illuminated reticle. This is not so much an issue for me now or in the foreseeable future use of the optic. Take my opinion for what it is worth, this is a QUALITY scope where the positive features well out weigh the negative.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I own the 6500 2.5-16X50 with mildot reticle. The glass is very clear like the 4200's. I have used the scope on several rifles for hunting and F/TR class shooting. It tracks dead on with my dope and JBM calculations. I didn't expect this much out of the scope but it has turned out to be a very nice piece of glass.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I have the 6500 Tactical. It has a fine picture from edge to edge from 4.5 to 30. I used it last year to take a doe at 200 yards at dusk dark. Plus I got it a deal. Local gun shop had it for 500.00 bucks.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

Just passing on info as I have no experience with the Bushnell 4200 or 6500 scopes, but if anyone has a C&R it would be worth your while to set up a dealer account with Graf and Sons.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I have the 2.5-16X50 mildot and I'm very happy with it. I had a Leupold 6.5-20x50 VXIII Target before this, but I wanted something with a lower bottom end while still retaining a strong upper end magnification. The 6500 fit the bill, and the view is every bit as clear...if not more so.

If you have a Bushnell outlet store in your area, you can score some a good deal on a new OR a refurbished scope, and if you're LE, there's an extra discount.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I have a 6500 Tactical 30x on my 7WSM. It is, IMHO, a very good scope for the money. It has tracked well, been very bright and clear and has stood up to the recoil of some 180 VLD bullets launched at high vel.
Thinking of getting one of the lower mag scopes.

Re: Bushnell Elite 6500

I have the 2.5-16x42 on a fusion 22lr. Hard to beat it for the price. Tracks good, bright and no problems yet. I really like the adjustment range for the 22lr.
