Hi All,

I recently bought Bushnell scope, and I'm seeing a slight misalignment on the elevation turret. It's mainly because the turret spins a small amount between clicks. The windage turret seems more crisp with much less play and better aligned.

I'm seeing that others have had this problem with other scopes of different brands. Is this a defect that would affect performance and needs to be fixed? The warranty says I can send the scope back to Bushnell and they will either repair or replace, but I'd rather not waste my time if the scope they send me will more likely have the same problem anyway.

I have attached a photo of the elevation turret illustrating the problem. I've also attached a photo of the windage turret which seems to be fine.

The issue with early LRHS/TS models was a 50 vs. 100 spline elevation turret and to my knowledge, new production are 100 spline. If yours is strictly an alignment issue halfway between hash marks, call customer service and they’ll either replace turret or ask you to send in for correction. And yes, it’s an annoying, but simply recognizable QC issue that should have been caught during assembly.

The turrets on those engage a splined shaft the cons of that design is what yours is doing if the splined shaft is off then the turret will never quite line up. The pros of that design is one screw on top of turret and when tightened there is pretty much zero chance the turret will slip on the splined shaft unlike most other scope designs that have three screws placed equally around the turret shaft that can slip against the shaft. Back to your question no it should not affect the tracking of the scope if you can live with the turret lines not quite lining up.
