Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

What got into Bushnell? I hope who ever is behind all these new products is getting a huge pay raise! Talk about pulling a company out of the ashes.. This is a lot like savage a few years ago! In really looking forward to sitting on the can and looking at the 2013 catalog.....I'm waiting to see who has what before I buy.. Seem like they really are on the heels of nightforce? That's pretty much just the tactical line, but pretty awesome stuff! If this spotter has the Horuis retical wonder if and what scopes they put it in..

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

After what LL has said about the upcoming SHOT show for NF. NF will be leagues ahead of most competition possibly S&B. Don't get me wrong Bushnell was a crappy scope in my mind, but now I might have to turn the other cheek and take a hit buying one of their products. This looks like it might be the first one if all things check out.

It definitely is. Any info on the new LRFs?

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

We got a chance to check these spotters out at the GAP Grind. They are very nice units. I will get one with the ranging reticle for sure when they are released!

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

To me, this scope smokes my Spotter 60, when I used it, I was like WOW...

The lower power is awesome, the rails, the armor, the whole package have was great for the price point they were talking about.

It was my personal highlight for the Demo week... I wish I could have taken one home right then.

They did say were going to be small small adjustment to this model. The rails will be higher off the spotter body. They were still working out some NV options. Still over all for a prototype this was great.

Tom @ Bushnell said their tech's considered this their optically finest scope to date.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

LL....I agree. My spotter 60 is for sale since I used this. I'm getting two for K&M as soon as I can. Great spotter! Everyone should look at what Bushnell is putting out. Scopes, range finders, and spotters are all top of the line equipment.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

Nice write up John. I plan to take a serious look at these once they come out. I need a good (and hopefully reasonably priced) spotter with a mil reticle. Makes calls so much quicker and accurate.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

Take this with a grain of salt but at K&M we were told under $3k.... that wasn't a definite but still that is an awesome price for the optic you are getting. Like I said, I really want one. They are small, crystal clear, and damn near the perfect mag range. Bushnell hits another home run.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

Seriously? "Smokes the Spotter 60"???

I really would find it hard to believe that Bushnell, i.e Chinese optics come close in performance.

Horus seem to have been the driving force behind the Bushnell scope, so lets see if Bushnell are brave enough to offer other MIL based options??

You can believe what you want, but you are wrong on the source of the optics.

The optics in the Bushnell Tactical line are Japanese. Even the cheapest Elite Tactical scope (the 10x) is made in Japan, not China. Bushnell does still have some Chinese made scopes, but those are in the "Banner" line you see at Walmart. You may take some time to research what scope manufacturers use Japanese optics and who uses Chinese optics.

Anyone who thinks the Japanese can't make a precision product needs to take some time to research manufacturing.

Really? What are you basing that assumption on? It has nothing to do with bravery. It has to do with building the scope for a specific purpose with input from a specific consumer.

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

Anybody experimented any further with the camera attachments? Long time no manufacturer made anything worthy; I´m still using my Kowa TSN with a compact camera mounted to it as a "target TV" for bystanders. Now I´ve seen pictures of this scope with an in-line DSLR bracket on it - that could be the trick...

Re: Bushnell Elite Tactical Spotter

With the history of Bushnell group buys going through the hide, does any one think we will get lucky and have a GB on these??? I will be there to participate if so!

Agreed. I recently built a new SPR and tried out the HDMR scope from Bushnell and was really impressed. Their new tactical shift has been putting out products that while not top of the line, are definitely a good value. My main gripe with Bushnell is still quality of glass. After spending half the day behind an S&B, hoping back over to my HDMR made me cringe.
