Got a rifle in the works from AO (308 win) and I am struggling to decide on whether to pick up the ERS 3.5-21 with G2 or wait for the new Steiner TX5I 3-15 with SCR or MSR....

Will be used for ringing steel, punching paper, and hunting.

    What do you all think?

    Wait.

There are so many potentially great options out within the next few months that it's IMO not worth rushing.

I've been going through a similar process, I'm choosing to wait to see whether the new steiners are for me, or to just keep saving for a vortex gen 2...

AJ, I am going to wait. I love my to bushes with G2 but for abit more cash I want to see that Steiner. I.currently have my new rifle with a scope mounted that is bottomed out on travel but I'll just have to suffer till this fall.

I own an XRS with the G2 reticle, and I do love it. However, if I were in your boat, I'd definitely wait for the Steiner. Because the Steiner may be a little while, I'd get something like an SS fixed 10x and shoot with it until the Steiner's are ready. You'd get most of your money back on the SS.

I just picked up the ERS w/g2 this last week, I'm taking it to the range Thursday but my first impressions are that it's going to be a nice optic and all the reviews for however long it's been out say it's a good optic. I'd take that over any scope that has yet to be run by all different kind of users and reviewed. You can always sell it later once the real reviews come out on the Steiner from the public.

I went with Bushy ERS with G2 reticle and didnt look back. I love the scope, and for the money I don't know that it can be beat. I, like others don't think I want to be a beta tester on first releases...
