Bushnell fusion Arc 1600 problem

I got a pair of these for Christmas. For some reason I could not get the right eye to be as clear as the left. I tried adjusting at many different ranges and finally looked in the Ocular end. The right eye was foggy or dirty on the prism inside. The left was absolutely clear. I took them back to the dealer that they were purchased from to make sure that it wasn't just because of the laser or something in that side. When they brought a new pair out to swap for me, BOTH prisms in that pair were dirty/not clear!! They did not have any other pairs in stock, but looking through the end of any other pairs of binos in the shop showed it clear that these were dirty or scratched. They are contacting their Bushnell rep to get them replaced.
If you have a pair, I recommend looking in the end to see if the prisms are scratched or dirty.. It may not be obvious at first, but at the right angle it is very noticeable and the image through the glass is hindered greatly.
I ended up leaving them at the dealer. I should here in a week or two if they are replaced or fixed.

Anyone else have any problems like this?

Mine are great. Other than the Vector IV's these are the best LRF's I've ever used. The Clarity of mine are as good if not better than my Leupold MK4. I hope that you get back a good pair.

Mine are fine from memory. I havnt had a chance to glass all that much over the past few months, but so far they have been flawless.

Shame to hear Bushnell QC let this past.

I hope they fix the problem quickly.

Mine have been great as well. No scratches or any imperfections on them. Hopefully they take care of you and you don't have the same issue with the new new pair.

This is good to hear that its not a wide spread issue. I was quite disappointed, but the shop says they will get me a new pair from Bushnell. Haven't heard anything so far, but as long as I have a them by spring I'll be happy.

Well I got my new pair of binos from the shop a few weeks ago. I was pleased that they replaced them with a new pair without question however this pair is also not 100% clear. The shop said they told them that they are as clear as they get. So I don't think sending them back to Bushnell is going to help at all.I took some pictures to try and explain what I am seeing.

Standing in a semi dark room, look through the objective lense at a bright window a little ways off. You will see if the (i think) prism has grime or scratches on it.

I will say that this pair is better. I can actually focus them quite clearly, but they are not clear to the edge of the site picture.
Am I being to anal about this?
I looked in a pair of cheaper bushnell's at the shop that were clearer, BUT I love that built in range finder.

Mine are plenty clear. I don't have this issue. I got them for the rangefinder and having a bino in one. If I wanted better glass in a rangefinder/bino combo, I would have gone with the Leica's or the Zeiss'. I also would have paid an additional 2 grand. If they're clear enough for you to use, then I'd say be happy with them.

Had mine about 6-mths and just changed the batteries for the first time. How are you guys finding the ballistic function ? I shot at 1k the other day and both the Fusion and Bullet Flight came up with exactly the same adjustment which was pretty much on the money for drop...now i just wish it could sort out the wind for me too !

Looking at purchasing one of this but was wonder is 10x42 or 12x50 would be better.

I wasn't even aware the 12x50's were on sale to the public yet. Honestly, the 10x42's have some weight to them. I don't feel like the little extra bit of power would be worth it if it's going to add any weight to them, especially considering they aren't threaded for a tripod.

They are clear enough to use. The first pair was definitely not, but these are. I used them varmint hunting last Saturday and it was SO NICE to have bino/laser in one. I will need another strap. They are quite heavy and swing too much with the provided neck strap.

Anyone using a different harness with them?

Glad to hear they're going to work out. Yes, they're pretty heavy. I have been fine with the Bushnell neck strap, but I would imagine if you're going to be carrying them around while hunting, the padding on the factory strap is nice, but something with an adjustable strap would be better, or a harness like you stated. Is a harness the route you were wanting to go?

I'm thinking a harness. I use these mostly for varmint and predator hunting. Varminting, I am constantly on the move and up and down positioning for shots in tree lines and fields. I noticed them swinging and banging of the ground and tree stumps. Something to hold them more "in place". Anyone have suggestions. I see Bushnell makes one. They should come with This haha. Any experience with these? this type?

Try the Badlands bino harness for them. It holds them close to the chest, with a little different system than what you normally see in harnesses.

Thanks for the suggestion. That pack seems a little overkill. Though it would be nice in cold weather and good for carrying extra gear, I am pretty much hunting in hot weather.

I'll probably just pick one up at the shop where I got the binos.

i've had zero issues with mine. they are fantastic in my opinion. they do everyhting i could ask for.
