Buy a frame only?

Is there anyway to buy a lower frame assembly or lowercare for a ruger or browning 22 pistol? I'm looking to put a suppressor host togethere, but can't bring myself to spend like 300 - 400 then add another 300 upper.

I've seen ruger bottom halves show up on gunbroker from time to time. I think Volquarsten and one or two others also make them.

For Ruger's the "upper" or barrel is the serial numbered part. To get a lightweight barrel from Tactical Solutions for a Ruger 22 Handgun you have to go through your FFL.

The Browning Buckmark the "lower" or frame is the serialized part.

I was looking to build a mkIII or 22/45 with a TacSol upper, just broke down and got a threaded 22/45
