Yeah, my scope has been delayed for many months due to this. How far out are they?

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

I'm glad to see some fresh posts on the C2 reticle again. I've had my SN-3 TPAL order pending since November of 2009 waiting for the C2 to wrap up. Looks like we're getting close again with the revised C2 so I can hardly wait!

So is this digital rheostat an upcharge to the rotary unit or a complete replacement? I have the rheo option on my build.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Guys. Here is the deal on the C2 1.8 x 10 optic. It turned out good, maybe better than I thought it would. The reticle truly works much like the previous version in 1.5 x 6 power or similar to an EOTECH optic when set at low power. When the magnification is turned up the reticle of course gets bigger and eventually the ring or circle portion of the reticle disappears completely leaving a standard looking mil based reticle. I will say however, that some of you may find the reticle at high (10) power is too course for some tastes. It is a matter of taste, size of target and distances commonly encountered. The illuminated reticle is bright, big, quick and has the electronic rather than dial control. I would posts pictures but am currently too busy teaching on a Navy contract to take the time during the day and it's too dark at night. Indoor pictures proved to be ineffective. If you desire email me and I will send you a file showing the reticle via email rather than post here in the open forum. It is getting dark later everyday and if I catch a break I will take the pics and post them. I am carrying e camera with me daily and hope to catch a break. The center of the reticle aiming point is setup as four plus signs stacked together next to and above one another with a small space in between as a center aiming point. The whole center is en floated with a blank space in both the vertical and horizontal plane. This allows a half mil hold off of the center aiming point, which again some may like and some may not. I think is a good option for mid range - long range shooting applications, particularly with man size targets. It brackets well for CQB as does the floating aiming point for quick shots at higher power. I think it is an effective multiple purpose scope and I give it high marks. It surely is different and serves it's purpose throughout the power range. Is it the best of both worlds? Only you can tell guys. All of the guys here at the center have given it high marks engaging IPSC half size targets out to 600 yards which is our longest distance here. I hope all is well with you guys. My best. Kent

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Absolutely magnificent. The central crosshair detail reminds me of the S&B P4 reticle design. The floating central crosshair assembly leaves things much clearer than running the posts directly through the center.

The ring and fatter external posts appear to be very fast and once zoomed to 10x, the ring disappearing leaves no extra mess to clutter your FOV.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Kent, PLEASE decide to make this reticle available for the SN-3 ERGO 1.8-10X37. I'm really liking it, just not liking the T-PAL only option. If this goes ERGO I'd be all over it for the scope I'm going to order.

I believe you have to call and purchase these directly from C2 shooting center. just look them up and give them a call.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

I just ordered it from USO with the C2. At first it wasn't offered yet at the time of my order, but Becky Emailed shortly there after and said it was, and if I still wanted it, I could get it. So I did. Going to see it completed sometime in the near future I'd guess. I think I'm sitting at either 12-13 weeks out from my order date right now.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

I just got my tracking number today from Becky. My order has been on hiatus for 18 months waiting specifically for the C2 reticle to come to fruition so the build could be finished.

It's been a long ride but I should have one of, if not the first, C2 reticles outside of US Optics and C2 Shooting Center internal testing. Can't wait to put some rounds downrange after figuring out the instructions to set the EREK.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Well it came in today!

US Optics SN-3 T-PAL w/ C2 reticle and new digital rheo design. Custom engraved trinagular markers and a line scribed on top of the tube to the EREK knob. It's sitting on Seekins Precision medium rings on a Larue LT-101 QD riser. Clears the rear 200-600m KAC BUIS...barely.

I'll have to tinker some more and get familiar with it but I'm loving it. It's pleasantly heavy and it looks right at home on my Mk12 Mod 1.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

I am really pleased with my USO 1.5-6x SN-4 with C2 and the SN-3 version appears to be another winner. Congrats to all who were involved in the project. The digital illumination control works really well and is very responsive.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Here are some of the requested photos. It's pretty obvious the lens distorts the image edges when it's actually completely sharp from edge-to-edge to the eye. Even a cheapo $49 BSA scope won't have that much edge distortion so sorry for being unable to take photos that reflect the sharpness of the image. I've never seen my camera behave like this.

Taken indoors through a dirty window at trees across the street ~35m because I was too lazy to throw on some pants and a jacket to do it outside. It's overcast, a poor contrast environment but the scope renders the image as it appears to the eye, and quite brightly.

1.8x on and off:

3x on and off

6x on and off

10x on and off

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

The digital rheo has an insane amount of tuning. The graduations between levels is so slight I couldn't tell half the time when I clicked. It are actually too many graduations and I'm curious if it can be reduced. I think there are around 60+ levels of brightness. The catalog claims 48 levels but it seems more. I clicked "up" about a hundred times, then worked my way back down. I counted 62 clicks to the minimum. Can someone from US Optics chime in on the specs of the digital rheo and it can be changed?

Either way, if you had to go from low brightness to high brightness, it would be quite slow over a rotary knob or a design with less clicks to get from min to max, but those are fairly specific conditions not everyone will encounter. I took these photos in 10-step increments from low to what I think was max. Under outdoor lighting, level 1 is indistinguishable from black. In a darkened room, it is visible. The next step up is a big jump, and the graduations become fine from there. Past 30-40, I couldn't tell given the overcast lighting conditions. I suspect under bright sun, it would become more apparent at the upper levels.

So minimum, minimum+1, +10, +20, +30, +40

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Guys,
I have two more weeks on my current training tour of duty and them I will be available for three weeks before I head out to China Lake in CA. I have limited bandwidth and time here. All C2 reticle optics are available directly from US Optics. Just give Becky or John a call and they will take care of you. For those that have bought a C2 scope, thanks and please continue to post comments as to your opinion good or bad on the optic. Thanks for the support.

Stay Safe all................

Kent

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Final payment was sent. I'll be seeing it in a week or two depending on the mail I suppose. No hurry, the rest of the month I'm tapped for cash. Won't get mounted till June. Dropped a GF just to do it. Priorities are in order here.

Beautiful combination!

I have a ERGO/EREK/GAP SN-3 1.8-10X37 on a 16" Kreiger barrelled Recon with OPS 12th, T-1 backup RDS, & high Nightforce UniMount for PVS-22 compatibility. Optical performance is outstanding, very sharp, contrast is high, and the scope tracks flawlessly.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

Becky emailed a paid in full invoice this week. I'm looking so forward to finally having it in my hand. It is identical to the one pictured here except it has an internal bubble level installed.

Re: C2 Reticle for 1.8-10

I've seen the bubble level pictured. Mine was ordered with it. I should have had the rifle serial engraved on the scope, shit I didn't think of that one. I believe I said no logo, but we'll see when I get it. Check cleared my bank, just waiting now for it to ship.

The internal bubble level is hard to see. I'm not overly taken by it. Not near as useful as them old Springfield Armory labeled scopes were years ago. With them you could see your level looking down range. With USO however it is very hard to see it until you raise your head. I loose my sight picture doing so. It could use a little something more to improve it.
