I’ve been shooting the Cadex Kraken for about year now. I went with the .338 Lapua Magnum, .300 Win Mag and .308 Winchester barrels. It was down to Accuracy International and the Cadex but at the end of the day I went with the Cadex partly just to stray a little from the beaten path, but mostly because their chassis have always gotten such excellent reviews and they use Bartlein barrels. I fitted it with a Tangent Theta TT525P so ended up with an “all Canadian” build.
Not sure what the prices are like in Canada (see earlier post from Mareshow) but price was not a consideration for me here in the U.S. By the time you add some barrels (that’s the point right), bolts, firing pins, magwell adapters, magazines, specialized tools for changing the barrels, fitted hard case (it comes with a drag bag, but I needed to be able to check it on airplanes) I was north of $17.3K MSRP, $15.8K MAP (add the glass and you're sneaking up on $20K).
The fit and finish are amazing, but what has truly impressed me is the barrel changing system. Once I’d done it a few times it becomes intuitive. I can change from one caliber to the next in about 5 minutes and can attest to their claim of holding zero; I’ve experienced virtually no shift in POI after swapping out the barrels.
As an aside, they were also a pleasure to deal with (Canadians are always so damn nice aren’t they?). Great communication throughout, excellent Customer Service, just an all-around great buying experience. I could not be happier with mine.
