Been looking into the CADEX rifles as an option for my next purchase, specifically the Kraken. From doing some digging though, there isn't that much information out there that isn't from CADEX themselves.

Anyone got some links to some thorough reviews on any of their rifles, or have some hands on experience and would like to share with the group?

I was in the same position as you a couple months ago, I was looking at multiple switch barrel systems (desert tech, AI, Barrett, curtis) before I settled on the Kraken. I've had a cadex before and it was an absolute tack driver. What really sold me was, although their barrel system is slightly more complicated than most, it allows you to retorque each barrel to 100 ft lbs. That sold me because I've heard some rumours of impact shifts due to other systems not torquing them in place. Is it possible? yes. would it happen to everyone? no but if you push your gun hard and it happens is that a risk you want?

Also pricing was awesome vs AI (I'm in Canada) I know cadex has insane quality control too. I was looking at a victrix rifle here as well but there is literally none of them here, and to spend that kind of money on a gun without at least touching one first seems crazy to me.

The chassis itself is awesome if you've never used one, very ergonomic for me as well as "natural" feeling. Its a bit heavier than some, but also a bit lighter than others. I plan on, once I get mine doing a full review because there is basically nothing out there for them as far as reviews go. But then again spending this much on a rifle it better perform.

Thanks Mareshow, the price is definitely on of the things that have led me towards the cadex. There's currently only 1 Cadex rifle in NZ atm so i'm making a point to check out the craftsmanship on it before its sold.

I am Cadex Fan,

They have a great chassis, their barrels are Bartlien and computer spun up. I am really liking their new actions, the Sheepdog is great too.

I have a few videos, and two more I have to finish, but I am currently working with a Kraken and the Sheepdog 6CM in a competition chassis

Here is a factory visit

Discussion of the chassis I believe

Full Rifle Review

I am fan and continue to use and shoot CADEX stuff every week

? cadex tremor.. that out of the way I haven’t shot a full cadex rifle but I’ve used one of their chassis and if their rifles are made as fine as the chassis I wouldn’t bat an eye about purchasing one.

Re: the second video. They are in need of a visit from the Canadian version of OSHEA, it is really unacceptable to wear gloves while working with a spinning spindle.

I’ve been shooting the Cadex Kraken for about year now. I went with the .338 Lapua Magnum, .300 Win Mag and .308 Winchester barrels. It was down to Accuracy International and the Cadex but at the end of the day I went with the Cadex partly just to stray a little from the beaten path, but mostly because their chassis have always gotten such excellent reviews and they use Bartlein barrels. I fitted it with a Tangent Theta TT525P so ended up with an “all Canadian” build.

Not sure what the prices are like in Canada (see earlier post from Mareshow) but price was not a consideration for me here in the U.S. By the time you add some barrels (that’s the point right), bolts, firing pins, magwell adapters, magazines, specialized tools for changing the barrels, fitted hard case (it comes with a drag bag, but I needed to be able to check it on airplanes) I was north of $17.3K MSRP, $15.8K MAP (add the glass and you're sneaking up on $20K).

The fit and finish are amazing, but what has truly impressed me is the barrel changing system. Once I’d done it a few times it becomes intuitive. I can change from one caliber to the next in about 5 minutes and can attest to their claim of holding zero; I’ve experienced virtually no shift in POI after swapping out the barrels.

As an aside, they were also a pleasure to deal with (Canadians are always so damn nice aren’t they?). Great communication throughout, excellent Customer Service, just an all-around great buying experience. I could not be happier with mine.

I second this. I called to ask a question about my barrel and within 30 seconds of dialing was transferred and on the phone with the US sales rep. Super nice guy. Knew a lot about what I asked for, and explained a couple of things I didn’t know. Great company to deal with.

Yeah I would definitely recommend it, for me a victrix would have been $12,000 rifle only. An AI would have been $11,000 rifle only (on caliber). The Desert Tech rep here leaves a lot to be desired, no customer service, took me three weeks to get a reply back about spending $8000 on a rifle to me is absolutely unacceptable. Cadex however and the dealer were fantastic, I'm getting a full set up for the same as the victrix which is a win in my books. And the customer service is amazing.

My only beef with Cadex is the weight, It made me kinda want a DT A2 but based on experience I was hesitant of bull pup and the customer service was enough to say no. Originally I told myself I didn't want a Cadex because they are so popular here, but there's a reason for that. They are tack drivers and consistent.

I hear they are picky on ammo though so, I'll be load developing right away so we'll see :)
