I just bought a Marlin 1894 and plan on using it on coyote. It is very brushy where I hunt so I figured it would be perfect. Does anyone else hunt with this?

just gettin' them in close and standing still... that will be the tricky part

It's weird how hunting the same thing is so different in different areas.
Most of the time here in the east where vast, wide open spaces are few and far between, most coyotes who respond to calling START OFF in 44 mag range. You usually can't see them until they are top of you!
Personally I would use a shotgun too (12 gauge with #4 buck or some Dead Coyote T-Shot and a good turkey or Coyote choke should get them out to 50 or 60 yards - a friend has made a kill at 54 yards with a shotgun, Dead Coyote T-Shot and the Dead Coyote choke), but a 44 mag will most definitely work.
