I use the discontinued precision rifle version of the Modtac carbon fiber suppressor shield. Yes, you need a darn allen key to mount/dismount it. I should look into replacing it with low profile thumbscrew.
Here it is on my rifle. The tiny allen screw is on the bottom. You can’t remove the suppressor with it attached as it eventually slips and scratches the can. The slip is the problem for me, as the can is always hidden by the cover anyway.

Their new version is interesting but I don’t really want to clamp anything to the barrel’s end as I’ve read that it doesn’t take much pressure to affect the bore, which is surprising.
This new system takes a quarter-turn or so to remove the shield. Of course, the adaptor thing is always on the barrel, but I use cans 100% of the time.
Their products are pretty spendy.

Their units for ARs look pretty darn cool but only work if your handguard comes close to the suppressor.
What attracts me to the Can Chap is one can attach/remove the cover+can in one motion. I always take off the suppressor when storing the rifle as 1) some areas of my safe don’t have the vertical necessary for some can/rifle combos, and 2) carbon debris can fall back into the barrel when the rifle is upright.
I used to poo-poo that last point until it happened to me. Holy shit I had 1-2mm gdamn chunks of carbon gravel in my chamber one day. Time to clean the fucking suppressor!!!
Taking the can off after each range trip at least allows me to inspect the muzzle. That’s where I first saw some carbon chunks a-lounging.
Anyway,
@lash does the Armageddon cover have enough internal grip to allow you to spin off the can while it is attached?
