Any recommendations on a can to do some bird hunting here. I know there is only a couple can mades. I’ve heard
Good things about the Salvo. Interested in some feedback good or back for a 12 ga. Also going to get a shorter barrel also to make it a little more easy for Turkeys and Pheasants.

Thanks in Advance for any help

I have a Salvo for the past couple years, but I haven’t used it much as I’ve been shooting mainly indoors since I moved 3 years ago. It runs fine on my Benelli Montefeltro (28”) and M1 Field (22”). Most ammo is still supersonic, so not really “hearing safe”, but Federal makes subsonic loads that are nice and quiet.

I haven’t tried it on my Saigon SBS or KSG yet.

I appreciate your info on the Salvo. That’s the one I’m leaning towards. Was also said you can shorten the can .... like it comes in 3 sections I believe that you just need extras fasteners if you want to
Shorten it?

You can purchase rods to change the length in 2” increments from 6” to 12”, they sell for around $40. The end caps remain the same and you remove middle sections, there are screws on each end of the rods to sandwich everything together. I purchased rods for 8” but haven’t messed with the length yet. Everything shot through it needs to be wadded or a slug, no loose shot rounds as they would get between the rods.

I have suppressors. I understand. But IMO silly to shoot suppressed shotgun for Turkey and Pheasants considering u have 3 1/2” shotgun shooting Hi velocity shells. Just addn length and xtra wt to carry. Ur Buddies will think your cool just with the SBE

Will a benelli like the SBE cycle with a can hanging off the barrel? I've read somewhere that adding weight to inertia-driven actions causes failures to eject and cycle new rounds.

the Salvo 12 spec caution against 3 1/2" ammo due to the increased pressures

additionally having a pound and a half hanging off the end of you SBE will require you to learn how to shoot skeet and lead birds all over again
