The fucking placement of UPC Barcodes on heavy items! WTF I just don't get why on a 50lb bag of dog food the only fucking place someone thought to print it is on the goddamn bottom of the bag, or a 40lb bag a charcoal yep on the bottom, 40lb bag of deer corn yep bottom, 50lb bag of rice guess where?.......the fucking bottom, 80lb bag of concrete you guessed it the bottom. They could easily print it on every corner of the bag, but noooooo some asshole thought the only and best place is the bottom and on one side no less. Is there some kind of federal rule that mandates UPC barcodes only be printed in one spot on a package the goddamn WTF bottom? It's got to be right? Only the government could make a decision so fucking stupid. It wouldn't cost one cent more to print it everywhere on the package, but no lets make people have to lift heavy bags for no fucking reason at all..............Ok back to my regularly scheduled bourbon. Be safe gents!

the only reason i can think of is they expect the bags to be dragged across a scanner.
but sure, i don't think the cost of ink could be the reason.

That is the thing though they never hardly drag it across the scanner they come around with the scanner gun, but you still have to lift the bag just so they can do that. Instead of just making it easy and printing it on the top of the item where the cashier could easily get to it nope lets print it on the bottom.

Sissy! 50 pounds isn’t heavy unless you are a girl! When I was a kid we had 100 pound bags - and obviously no bar codes!??
Ha Ha Yea so you didn't have to lift them up for the shits and giggles of it the cashier probably knew the price or it was printed..........wait for it.......on the top..........that's right where it makes sense........LOL

I do love this new diverse world. 50 or 40 pound bags and 9mm so “all” can handle them. Only men use to do manual work. And it wasn’t printed when I was a kid - maybe written. It is a different world!? my favorite stores sold guns, boots, hardware, lumber, and pretty much whatever else you needed. Ok except alcohol, which was illegal in my rural MS County! My dog food comes in 40lb bags and I just don’t see the problem - except when the wife goes to get it!

My post is obviously a bit of a joke albeit at the same time pointing out a little stupidity when it comes to the placement of UPC barcodes on the bottom of packages when they could so easily be printed on multiple locations to make the consumer and the cashier's job so much easier. I subscribe to the theory of working smarter not harder. If I need to drive screws and have access to a hand screwdriver and a cordless impact driver I am not going to use the hand screwdriver just to be "old school"

Put it in the cart upside down with the barcode facing left and let the cashier scan it.
Adapt to world, it’s not going to adapt to us.

You could always load the bag in the cart upside down making the bottom the top.

Because the graphic designers that make the bag graphics dont want a stupid bar code in the prime advertising real estate of the bag. Basically they dont want people to see it.

My wife's pet peeve is to make dam sure the dig food bag is facing the correct way so the cashier doesn't have to move her/his fast ass........to scan the barcodes.. and break her ass..... rant over

I've always thought it was quite the most dumbass place to put a barcode on, also.
We could start another stupid thread on handicap toilets and why the T.P. dispenser is placed damn near behind you and damn near on the floor! I mean, WTF?? I wear a leg brace that takes up more room than a regular stall can provide (I know, more info than anyone needed to know), so I need to use one, so I can't picture a person in a F'n wheelchair, trying to contort themselves, to take care of business. I just thought, since we were talking about stupid things, that should be a common sense issue, that are not, I'd throw this out there. LoL! Mac:LOL:

Women! Go figure! They can tote three babies at the same time all around town but ask them to go get on e bag of dog food or to pick up your dirty laundry! Damn! If you a country girl instead of a Mississippi Southern Belle she could handle hay bales, concrete sacks and never skip a beat picking up after you!
