I didn’t think so... until today.

A single rifle that works equally well both day and night, as good at being a CQB / Home Defense bedside gun but also take down Tule Elk at 900 yards. A rifle that is hearing-safe indoors when unsuppressed, and can spot the heat signature of a coyote at 500 yards and take him out without disturbing the neighbors, while it also makes the perfect “Truck Gun” to get you home should you ever need to call on it.

Hogwash! You say? Impossible! You retort!

Not anymore, dear friends. Allow me to introduce you to the only rifle you will ever need: the Barrett M107A1.

Feast your eyes on just two of the many quick-change mission adaptable profiles of this versatile platform:

1) CQB / Home Defense. Unsuppressed hearing safe and zero risk of overpenetration:

2) Small critter / coyote hunting. Virtually identical in all physical characteristics to the 5.56/.223 round, the .50 BMG round carries 11% more muzzle energy than your typical carbine round and is “Coyote Rated.”

Can you tell the difference? I think not! For the untrained eye, going left-to-right: .50 BMG > .338LM > .308 > 5.56.

Again, the only way to distinguish between the two is by reading the headstamp.

I’d counter that an SBR AI 50 might be an interesting alternative with phosphorus rounds. Or maybe you SBR this guy which would be solid option I think too.

By FAR the most fun weapon EVER (except the integral 10/22 on the other end of the spectrum).

Got a UPA and a 200rd. basket and a double combat load of API/APITon tap. But when I get a Jeep or Hummvee here soon it'll be dilemma time again: Armor plate or full cupola? I guess it comes down to Jeep or Hummvee and which one BECU will give me a loan for! Either way, I need the auto trans. Too many foot surgeries, 200 staples currently in my R foot and I'm looking at two new knees sometimes in the near future. Hey, even superman gets old.

Current configuration. The 6x .50BMG ACOG is the titties for this thing. One day I'll get around to special ordering one of those Eotech's with the BMG reticle. A dual rig like on Tremors isn't totally out of the question...

Well, if you wanna go light then you wanna have 'em spin one up for an HTI, not an M107. HTI is probably the lightest BMG rifle that's a serious contender (it's a half minute rifle). They sell barrel extensions and offer prints so if Proof can do it on their end...

Shit. Thanks. Now I gotta make a phone call on Tuesday to add ANOTHER fork to the fire. But if I could turn that 29lb rifle into a maybe 22lb rifle, that'd be AWESOME! But the recoil is bad enough as it is... And IMO/E, cans can make it worse with these rifles, not better. So I'd get a shark brake for sure, the Harris models Elite makes are nice but already pushed to the limit on such a light rifle.

LOL... I've lived in Poland, both Warsaw and Krakow areas. Also lived in Polanica-Zdroj and Szczyrk. Sure, all totaled it was less than a year, but I've been all through that country. Any culture that drinks beer through a straw is asking to be conquered.
