Hi,

I have a bunch of brass for my M1 Garand that is new Lake City from pulled ammo. It was demilled about 20 years ago.

The problem with it is that the case necks have a lot of run out when measured from the inside, even after I run them through a sizing die. I think that the pull down process pulled the necks out of alignment. Several pieces have 5 to 10 thousandths of run out.

I have found most cartridge run out is created during the sizing process, mostly from running the neck over an expander ball.

Has anyone figured out a way to straighten a case after it has been pulled out alignment during the sizing operation or in this case from pulling the bullet?

Just run with them check bullet runout after you load some agree with above 5 10 thou aint gonna make a difference on a old worn out rifle

Thank you for your replies. The loaded ammo seems to have a lot of run out. I know it may not make much difference in an old M1. This particular ones has been set up as a match rifle and a few years ago I had a load worked up that shot a 1.5 inch group at 100 yards from prone with a sling, that was with ammo that was loaded with brass that was shot in this rifle and loaded with 47 grains of varget and 175 nosler bullets.

I decided that I want to have a bunch of ammo loaded up with that load to shoot every once in a while, but the load doesn't shoot very well with this brass. It may not be run out, but I figure this is a good chance to mess around with reloading processes.
