Sidearms & Scatterguns Canik Tp9sfx

Hi,

Be sure to run the serial number through Canik USA to ensure it was not one affected by the 2017 recall/upgrade notice and IF it is in the serial number range affected; ensure it has had the upgrades to remedy the situation.

Sincerely,
Theis

Thanks for the heads up. I will be buying new so hopefully it will be good but I will make sure.

at the nra world shooting championship year before last, we ran caniks on the uspsa stage. they were used & used & used & used. other than a petite female who wasn't holding it tight, and a big dude who was prob riding the slide release, there were zero failures of any kind. between squads we did some slow fire for accuracy (they had vortex viper red dots) and they were VERY accurate.

Gotta do a polish on the firing pin block, trigger bar, and sear/striker engagement surfaces. Install a glock extra power firing pin spring and maybe cut down the firing pin block spring by a few coils, you can get down to a 3 lb. trigger pull with just a bit of creep. The shape of the trigger places my finger low on the blade so I drag my finger on the trigger guard (though not as bad as with a glock).

Accuracy is good but recoil is somewhat snappy with the frame being as light as it is (if you're shooting in a class that allows it, Taylor Freelance makes brass magwells, brass grip insert, and brass mag extensions). If you don't make a conscious effort to keep the thumb of your shooting hand (assuming you're normal and right-handed) away from the slide lock lever, you will induce either slide failing to lock back on the last round (if you're pushing down on the lever) or failure to eject (if you push the lever up).

The optics mounting plates screw into helical inserts in the slide so don't use loktite or they'll pull out with the screws (which ends up being a warranty repair). The included cocking lever is too thin and a bit short. The mag release button extensions will dig into the palm of your left hand.

A useable pistol if you can get one for $500 or less.

I walked into the gun store specifically to buy a TP9SFX..... and walked out with a CZ SP-01 Tactical. I will probably still buy an SFX because I love my SA and SF. I just haven’t done so yet.

So many guns.... so little cash!
