Range Report Can't believe this happened... Whats the best group you've ever shot?

I've shot a few 5 shot groups in the .1s but this is what I consider the best group I've ever shot.

Some serious shooting there, wow....

Definitely impressive.

Can't wait to get that opportunity in the near future to have good enough groups to post here.

I've had a few groups from my AR in the .3's, but damn I have some work to do looking at some of these groups lol.

I did shoot this confusing ladder test the other day at 400 yds with 73gr. ELD-M's. I can't normally shoot that good at 400 with one powder charge, let alone a ~1gr increase in powder.

Best memorable groups ?
3rd -5th rounds out of a gap 308 while sighting in were .07" apart. Factory ammo.

POF 308 out the window of a pickup. 4 into 2.6" 5th opened it up to 4.1". At 550 yards. Factory ammo.

Center punching a plate at 1000 with the first round. Had only shot 3 round at 100 right before that. Was the first time I shot that gun in years. Factory ammo. Oh. It's a gap 7RM

Lower left corner. I was doing a "Moscow Match" experiment with Wolf ammo in my 6.5 Grendel. First group was Factory Wolf. Second was Hornady Black, third was match weight powder with the wolf bullet shoved back in (Wolf bullets are undersized at .262, not .264 - hence the experiment).

The single hole was the first load workup with Wolf Powder, Wolf case and primer, and 123 ELD shoved in.

I must confess that I've never fired a rifle with a "big" scope.
I had a Tikka M65A, with a S&B 1.5-6x42, and it would shoot any decent ammunition with boring precision.
And then there was the Mosin-Nagant based 7.62 Tkiv 85, with a 4x scope, that I had in my hands briefly. The only 100 meter 5-shot group that I shot was the size of a thumbnail.

Three shots. 6 Creedmoor. Factory Hornady ELD match. Bipod and rear bag. I built this rifle for my wife and it’s maybe the best thing I’ve ever done.

I've had many .1 groups over the years with several different rifles. A few 4 shot groups in the .0s, but still haven't managed a 5 shot .0 group.

This was my best so far: .116" done with a Ruger RPR (Hawk Hill barrel) chambered in 6mm Dasher.
RPR 6 Dasher.jpg

Probably not my very best group ever, but I’m pretty proud of the rifle/load on this one. 15 shots of 285 elds savage 112. Shot it over the course of a few hours.

Best I have ever shot.
Full Disclosure:
One cup of coffee several hours before.
Weather was perfect with little or no wind.
MPA 6.5 CM with my loads
Keep trying to repeat and have not been able to yet.

I can’t remember if these were 3 or 5 shots. But I was tinkering to develop a load. Anyways the one on the right was less than 0.1.

This is my best centerfire group so far. My 17hmr will outshoot my centerfires till after 200 yards, then the centerfires win.

Is that in a .308? If so can you give more info on your load.

Sure, but don't try and copy it without working up to it...

Jagemann brass, 45.6 of IMR4064, 175 nosler, CCI LRP, 2.260 CBTO. I forgot the velocity on it. I was seeing how hot I could run it before I saw pressure. I got all the way to 46 and saw no pressure. But the primer pockets were a little loose on the loads that got over 45. So that's where I kinda cut it off. I was getting some compression in there also.

Like I said, pretty sure it was a total fluke. You can see the groups to the right and left are a bit open, so I'm fairly sure this was luck

I shoot 4064 in my 308 but down in powder from your load. I am happy with where I am now. Just curious on that fps with your loads.

Long ago right after the chemo wore off during a HardRock match, I put 5rds into a 3/4" group at 600yds an 5rds into a 7/8" group at 800yds during a match. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while,...

....Jesus !!

Two questions for all you SNIPERS......(And I say this with all the respect this title deserves !)

How long have you been shooting ?
How many rounds per month do you go through ??

I'm bran spanking new at this and I'm majorly impressed with these results !!!
No way these are lucky shots......

Thank you for this thread !
You guys...and girl !...kick ass !!!

Shot these two groups before a ladder at 402 yards for load developement with my 22BR. I was using some bullets that I had pulled and re-loaded to make sure I was on paper before I shot the ladder. First 3 went into the 3" dot, so I dialed .5 mil left and sent 3 more. Wasn't shooting for groups, but they turned out pretty good, especially for mangled bullets.

found this one in a old drawer, back when i would save a few before i had a cell with camera.

funny as it may sound this was shot with a Tactical Rifles (rooney) rifle i had built in 2007, still have it.

caliper, no software back then...

that rifle has prob shot more groups 308 cal that size then my other ones

only shot factory ammo, so in not sure how well it could really do

target gtoup.jpg

of course shooting 260 and 6BR, now make my 308 groups look anemic but not bad for the old girl

edit spelling and grammar

Definitely no "sniper" at all.

This is one of my better ones. 10 shots staying just within 0.7moa while testing factory ammo in my Tikka T3x Tac A1. In every other rifle I have ever owned, the group always has one or two impacts that open up everything to over 1moa.

I should have stopped at the first 5 rounds because thats where that little cluster of impacts are. Great ammo and great rifle.

Working through load dev and the new stick with a 135g Hornady A-Tip looks promising with a fat 1/4’’......5 rounds and personal best. Nice
shooting OP!

4 shots at 100 that’s all the ammo I had left but are BR’s shot in the .2’s regularly if they were over .3 or .4 we thought there was were something wrong. Same rifle shot a 5 shot group at 1000 that all five shots could be covered with my IPhone
