can't see sent items

When in my private message section, I'll click on sent items, only thing showing is a couple from back when I first joined, nothing recent.
What do I need to do to change that, haven't been able to figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated.

Under My Account, General Settings is a checkbox to save a copy of sent messages. You likely do not have it checked.
