Larue 20 MOA short-action base
Seekins high 34mm rings
Used, low serial-number (<400) Premier 5-25x56mm

With the scope turned down as far as it will go, I'm still a couple inches high at 100yds.

Does this sound right?

I had previously been using a Super Sniper 3-9x with Larue rings and didn't have any problem zeroing @ 100yds.

Are you just hitting the zero stop? Loosen the tab on the elevation knob, turn the knob up to 3 mils and then retighten and dial down.

Sometimes it's the simplest things

Don't worry. You aren't the first and won't be the last.

In my defense, I kind of thought it was the zero-stop (based on where the dial was stopping). I'd just never had to "adjust" a zero-stop before.

And I'd also just had a different issue with the scope-mounting on a 22LR and was thinking it's just not my day.

So. Umm. Duh....

Yeah, I think that's all it was.

+100 for just fessing up and not concocting some ridiculous scenario to avoid admitting you actually made a mistake.

everyone has those moments. . .even the cool people who will never admit it.

People who shoot guns aren't immune to human error and simple mistakes. Many of them just dont admit it. Hell I thought I was a ninny for milling a target at the improper magnification then learned that I was far from the first to do it.

Unfortunately there's only one Bob Lee Swagger. The rest of us make mistakes just like everyone else. Props for admitting it. Now go out, get that zero, and get to work.
