Sidearms & Scatterguns caracal pistols ?

Re: caracal pistols ?

Never heard of'm till you asked. Certainly unique, especially the rear sight that is forward of the ejection port. Not sure I would like that short sight radius on a gun that is close to full size.
.
The portion to keep in mind is after market availability. How easy can you get mags, holsters, spare parts as opposed to something like a Glock, M&P or say even a ssss ok Sig.

Re: caracal pistols ?

I read an article on these pistols a number of months ago. I believe they are made in Arabia. I do remember that the guy doing the gun write up said the gun functioned well and was a quality piece.

Re: caracal pistols ?

They are made in both the UAE and Germany. JJ Racaza is now shooting for them. Pistol looks interesting and I have thought about picking one up. Out here they are around $450, which I think is a little steep for their first entry into the market. Major drawbacks that I see are holsters and spare parts.

Re: caracal pistols ?

Was checking them out at SHOT Show.

Well made striker fired design, very similar to a Glock internally, but with a better trigger feel. Ergonomic are better than the Glock too.

Downside is the rear sight is part of the slide end plate, which I dont like and there are no aftermarket sight options or other accessories.

Company name is stupid. They should have hired a good marketing and branding firm before entering the US market.

Yeah but this poor choice allows us to jokingly call them Carrot Calls.

That stupid reduced distance sighting system, whatever they call it, blows. At least I think that much is an option.

Re: caracal pistols ?

the quick sights is the model F, other models have standard sight arrangement. I would like to know more about the mags, capacity, material, availability, cost etc...
