CarbonSix barrels

I've been eyeballing one for a while now. The reason I am considering one of these over Proof, Carbonsix offers prefit barrels in 6.5 PRC. And they actually offer muzzle threads on their prefits, something Proof needs to pull their head out of their asses and do. Sorry I can't contribute to the thread, but I am interested in what other people have to say. If nobody gives me a good reason not to, I will probably have a Carbonsix 6.5 PRC later this summer.

I don't follow. All the Proof Savage Pre-Fit barrels have muzzle threads.

I stand corrected. The last time I looked they did not. Between me and a buddy, we contacted them 3 times over the last few years and they weren't offering muzzle threads at the time of order. They did offer to thread it if I shipped it back to them, but that $ adds up quick. I am happy to see they are now offering threads.

I just finished a build using one of their barrels and I am very disappointed with their work. Long story short, they blueprinted my Rem 700, installed the barrel and muzzle brake. They instructed me to send them my Recoil Lug because I wanted to use a particular one which they kept and then simply installed a cheap one hoping I won't notice. Also, the muzzle brake is not correctly timed. Here is a link to my build:

Damn that sucks.... have you not had a chance to shoot it? I am not having them do work and just ordered the barrel. I am surprised with the lack of response as I get prompt helpful replies from them.

No I cannot shoot it because I had to send the barreled action to Kampfeld Customs to have the muzzle brake properly timed/fixed, a thread protector fabricated and a side bolt stop/release added (CarbonSix does not do side bolt stop/release). In addition, here in Michigan it is too cold to shoot and the outdoor ranges are closed till spring.

Reviving an old thread. I’ll put a positive review out for Carbon six. I got a 26” barrel from them in 243 Ackley Improved and it’s been shooting great for me. Only about 100 rounds through it so it is still speeding up slightly, but is always shooting 1/2 MOA or better with my hand loads. The picture below is. 3-shot group I shot yesterday
