I was making 7-300 Win Mag from some Norma cases and when I was neck turning them after necking down my mandrel slipped out a little and I went pretty far into the shoulder on one case. I'm wondering if this case is still good to shoot or should I scrap it?
If it was a Winnie case I'd just scrap it, but these are Norma's and 300 WM to boot.

Right to Left: necked down case, normal neck turned case, case in question.

I really don't have the reloading experience to tell you whether or not that case is good to go. I do have enough life experience to say that I would toss it. Is one piece of brass worth any amount of trouble that may come of it? Not in my opinion.

If you keep it will it be consistent with the other properly turned cases? Could one inconsistent case skew later test results? This is an easy one, just ask yourself the obvious questions.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, lemme get my spoon.....chuck the case.

As a learning experience, section the case before tossing. Then in the future you will KNOW how thin it is there and can make a more educated decision. Some folks like to cut into the neck about that much to avoid the thickening and doughnuts that can occur after repeated sizing and firing.
