I am looking for advice on case trimmers. I am currently using the Lee set up and an old RCBS trimmer. Seems like there has got to be a better way. What are y’all using?

    thanks.

I bought a dillon 1200 a few years ago and just finally set it up. I take 200 rounds of say 223 and lube it in a ziplock and run it through the press
size stage 1, empty stage 2, trim stage 3, empty stage 4. Its loud with vacuum and trimmer running but i have some decent headphones and I have yet to see a faster system, for home use anyway.

Been using the wilson case trimmer for 3 yrs, really like it, easy on the hands, and the cuts are very uniform. If you shoot a lot of diff. calibers, the dies can get pricy. got mine off of Midway.

Yes, the Giraud is pricey, but it's the one piece of gear that will always have a home on my bench. It's really worth the investment, especially if you reload several calibers. I spent a lot of time trimming on my old Lyman trimmer. Results were ok, but it was long and tedious work. The Giraud trims, chamfers, and deburs in seconds. If mine dies, I would gladly get another.

I have the little crow in 223 and 308 and once you put them in a drill, you can trim while watching tv. It's a nice set it and forget it system. I knocked out about 500 cases watching Fury. Really easy but wear a glove on the hand you'll hold the cases with otherwise you'll end up with some missing skin after awhile.

I reluctantly bought the giraud years ago because I got tired of turning the lathe over and over again. It really does make everything much easier despite the high cost. In the end, I think it’s worth the price because of the time savings. You just have to set it up which can take a few minutes per caliber.

I never tried the dillon but I really like the way it cuts. The only drawback for me is the setup.

What cartridges? I picked up a World's Cheapest Trimmer for 223 for ~$25 delivered to my house. Love it. They do 308 and a few others.

I can second the World's Cheapest Trimmer. I have one in 6.5 Creedmoor and it works really well. It's not my Giraud, by any means, but once it's set up to your desired case length, it's pretty consistent
