Cast Iron Skillets

That or you can speed it up with a 6" orbital sander and various grits of paper to get you the desired finish in minutes, flash them to burn out any impurities and then a proper seasoning.

My wife bought a bunch of Lodge before she passed away, after she and the kids ruined some enameled crap she had. I took them to work and polished them out and seasoned them. Ended up letting the kids keep them because they were some special edition stuff with scenes on the sides and bottom. They haven't complained about them sticking yet, in fact they have said they were better than anything their father had at the time and were being used daily.
I didn’t have to do anything special to my 2010-ish Lodge to make it cook an egg. When I got it home I washed it and seasoned it upside down in the oven. That’s it. All this nonsense about grinding or sanding is completely unnecessary. Just season it and use the damned thing

I have a De Buyer 12” steel pan also. I rotate it onto the stove sometimes but the handle is a lot bigger than the Lodge cast iron pan so it gets in the way more. It really is an awesome pan though

If you want cast iron... this is what you want.

friend has one and it's worth it, if I did more camping I might buy one, but the wife loves our hex clad. still I'd buy one of these just to say I had it...
