I really jumped fast on this opportunity to go into the backyard & call-in these Coyotes . This was a real treat .
That neighborhood was so quiet, that between the rain showers that I could hear a person asleep & snoring inside the house . Cats & skunks running everywhere .
@ Night when you get a tight little urban area with 'controlled Range area' . The versatility of the 30-221/BLK bolt action suppressed is pretty killer & that's where it shines . All you do is just Pre-document the subsonic Drop-chart, off/using the High-Vel POI impact zero your using for your normal high-vel. Load . Then when the time comes for the quiet subsonic hit . Just Dial the holdover & wait for the coyote to enter the controlled zone . & Hit them threw the windbags with a few hundred Ft/lbs of energy with a big round soft-point & there done .
That day I went over to house . Looked area over & ranged it off . That night I just went into the backyard quiet & set-up on the covered porch area behind the handrails . I just dialed-up 5-MOA & worked the remote call & waited . That Neighborhood is full of Cats & this coyote came in real low & quiet .
I shot several coyotes with .22LR suppressed sub. vel . . but only a few coyotes with 30-221/BLK boltaction @ Night , I like shooting Coyotes in the field primarily with high-Vel. suppressed loads . Nighttime coyote hunting & 30-221/BLK Subsonic Round shooting on coyotes in (open field conditions) just Blows bigtime & for most part just a Pipedream . In the open field hunting conditions they come-in fast, all direction & at all range distances & they keep moving . They don't stand around to give enough time to Range them then fuckaround dialing-up . It's hard enough to be up on your game enough to hunt them efficiently @ night with High Vel. Round .
