Training Day Precision Rifle Edition... But I have to conentrate on hitting my target first hahaha
Ha! I thought I invented that move. I call it the Lapua shuffle. Damn brass is so expensive you cant take a chance if lising it ir getting it all banged up.
I've softened the ejection spring on both my precision rifles so it doesnt toss the brass as far (possibly damaging it) and making it easier to catch..
It's not creep, it's a two stage trigger. First stage is take up with a set amount of tension, then the second stage is the short crisp break that you see. It's designed to be that way.
You can pull through the first stage, then make sure everything is the way you need it to be before you break the shot when you're ready.

I do that in the winter as well. Brass gets dirty as hell from the snow, so I catch it and make a pile. It does slow down the follow up shots though.
By the way- that looks like my old AW! Where did you get it? The year is correct (2007) and it is a dovetail. Mine had a 20" fluted UK AI barrel on it when I shipped it, which was threaded 18x1.5 by GAP. The fluted 20" was never offered threaded. Is yours threaded?
EDIT- didn't see the "Denmark." Definitely not my AW!

I also had to learn to do this, its very important in the winter here in Maine. If you let your brass land in snow or ice you may have to leave it till spring... Of course its much easier with my TRGs limp dick ejection, every time I shoot an AI the brass goes flying past my hand until I remember to speed the process up some.
I do the same thing with my SRS, but the bolt being farther back, and the bolt handle on the front of the bolt, it is even easier than seen here. One fluid motion lifting the bolt with the back of the thumb, followed by the rearward pull catching the empty in the hand. Great little trick, and keeps brass clean and organized.
I might be able to pull this off on my AW308. I'll have to try it out tomorrow at the range perhaps.
The AWSM338 takes a little bit more up force on the bolt though, especially if shooting 300g bullets (a tad sticky), so I don't think I'll even attempt on that platform!

I do this slow shooting at the range but throw a time limit and stress in the mix and the guy next to me in the comp better duck.
Yeah I thought that was cool too. I did it for a long time until I found myself in the middle of a rapid fire string with a piece of brass in my hand. Let the brass fall.

Hahah, so true! I catch the brass from my trg when shooting prone or on a bench but its kinda impossible when standing up. It,s hard being perfect in an imperfect world
That's slick there, gotta try it myself now. I wonder if anybody can do that with an AR15... Hold the gun sideways maybe haha

Certainly the default answer is "No", but then you run into freaks in life like Jerry Miculek (with revolvers) and it makes you reassess what is possible. Not by mortals like me mind you, but possible by someone out there. I wonder?
