Anybody have any experience with these? I run CCI standard with good results but will have a flyer or 2 every once in awhile. Use Eley edge when I need the extra tightness. Never tried CCI green tag or Select, they're about the same price as Eley edge (11$ per 50 or a Lil less). I'm gonna get some of both and see how they shoot. Anyone have experience with these rounds?

The "selected" CCI is not particularly noted for better performance than 0035.

"Match" ammo just about starts at Wolf MT/SK Standard Plus, or Eley Target/Club, and you still get vertical and an occasional flier if you are shooting beyond gallery distance.

I've shot and chronoed CCI Green Tag and CCI SV's out of a Ruger Precision RF with 18" barrel and have gotten virtually the same results on paper as well as the chrono numbers. In my case, the SV's showed slightly better numbers, but when considering a standard deviation of those numbers . . . they're the same. As you probably know, they both have the same published MV of 1070 and the Estreme Spreads I've gotten in 10 shot groups averaged around 28 fps and the SD's averaged at 12. On paper, neither did as well for me as Midas +, Center-X, or Federal's UltraMatch and the same goes for those numbers.

As for CCI Select, the published MV is 1200 fps, so they're not exactly subsonic and wouldn't expect them to group as well as the above, but they would obviously shoot flatter. And I would expect they're ES's and SD to be much the same as Green Tag and SV's.

Also noticed the "Select" is for semi's and is 1200fps so probably not super accurate out of a bolt gun. The standard shoots really well for 3.75$ for 50, I haven't noticed enouenough difference between the Eley EdEdge and Match or Tenex to justify the price cost. Here's how the Edge shoots out oof my Savage MKII FVDR at 50y

And here's how the CCI STD does, some are 10 shot groups.

I've not shot the green tag or the select but for $11 a 50 it better be significantly better than sv. Eley Target is much better for me than sv. And I just use the sv for unsupported practice, I quit shooting groups, kyl's, and anything over 100 with the sv. Ultramatch is my go to if I really need to make it count.

I was disappointed with Green Tag as I had expected it to be there with ammo like UltraMatch and Center-X. Though there can be some significant difference between guns, putting my experience along with other's that I've heard from, Green Tag just doesn't seem to be worth the extra when one is likely to get significantly better results from other ammo at about the same price point . . . or just go with the SV's to keep one's cost down.

The Eley Target actually shoots worse that CCI STD for me, the Club is OK about the sasame as the CCI so not worth the price difference. They have 100 rounds of green tag locally for 18.99. Still seems like too much for it to be marginally better if at all than the STD at 3.75 per 50.
Side note Walmart had CCI 17 hmr TNT ammo on sale for 7$ a box and thats what my gun likes. Stocked up. Also hade CCI quiet for 2$ per 50. Bought a box of 500 of that.

Also I'm seeing the new CCI SGB round. Seems to be a flat nose sub sonic hunting round. I always liked the 100 round sleeves of CCI sub HPs. Anybody try this SGB stuff?

I don't hate to be the blunt voice here:

If you want match performance, you need to shoot match ammo, and do it through a decent rifle.

A decent rifle can look pretty good with good ammo, but NO rifle shoots crappy ammo well. They may be fine at 25 feet, 50 feet, maybe even 50 yards if you're not shooting too small a target, but lower grade ammunition will shoot 2-3 MOA at 100, and worse further.

I have one rifle that will keep CCI 0035 in a 6-8" circle at 200 yards, which is really saying something, since even some of the mid-grade target ammo will go 2-3" wide by 8" tall. But the same rifle will do 2" or under WITHOUT a tuner using Eley from black or red boxes.

Hey, if I could keep ONE case of ammunition on hand all the time for the rest of my life, it would be CCI 0035, hands down, 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

...but match-grade it ain't. Use it for offhand practice, use it for reaction drills, use it for field/animal shooting, use it for pistols (where it is a wonderful round), use it to slug barrels, use it when the grandkids come over...but if you need real accuracy, you're gonna need a better round.

I have a real affinity for no less than SIX .22 LR rounds for different tasks and seasons.

Here are some 10 shot groups of Eley Edge. I'm finding this gun might like a clean bore more than a fouled bore compared to the one I had before (Savage gave me a new FVSR because I worn the bolt handle out on my firsy one)
Also was having some strange mirage issues, second time out with new gun and scope, haven't cleaned it since I did before I started shooting it about 300 rounds ago.
