Scope of Training
This course is designed to give the shooter a basic understanding of Long Range marksmanship. You will learn the core skills that are required to consistently score hits on targets from 100 yards to 1000 yards. Long range accuracy is a result of the shooter consistently applying the fundamentals of marksmanship, interpreting atmospheric conditions, accurately applying adjustments to optics and recording data. Students will spend two days in the classroom learning the basic principals, and then move to the range to put them to the test. Our range is located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Weather conditions here can change rapidly and students will gain valuable experience by learning how to cope with varying winds and mirages.

Telescopic Sight Theory and Operation
Rifle Construction and Internal Ballistics
External Ballistics and how to interpret ballistic data
Interpreting atmospheric conditions
Rifle cleaning procedures and cold bore theory
Fundamentals of Marksmanship
Supported and Unsupported shooting positions
Interpreting and recording shot data
Range estimation techniques
Shooting Drills


Zeroing Procedures and Grouping Exercises
Scope Turret Manipulation Drills
Known Distance data checks
Unknown Distance Drills
Supported and Unsupported position shoots
Intro to multiple target engagement
Gear List

Rifle of 6mm or larger caliber
Telescopic Sight capable of Minute of Angle (MOA) or Mil adjustments with a range-finding reticle.
Front and Rear Rifle Support
Rifle cheek-piece (If rifle doesn’t have an adjustable one.)

Rifle data book
Pack suitable for carrying all your range gear
