Gunsmithing Cerakote application

Re: Cerakote application

your AO will last you a long time.
in terms of the hvlp gun fouling, ive just made it a habit to soak the tip of the gun in laquer thinner over night after every couple sessions. then, blow, rub and pick out the softened Kote.

Re: Cerakote application

"Does the bullet let the blasting media by or does it seal off pretty tight?"
yes, i hammer it in until the lands squeege the bullet material back. no point in having it in there unless it totally blocks the bore.

Re: Cerakote application

that soda is too soft. AO/garnett is the way.
that soda machine really has me thinking about converting an old stack-on safe i have sitting around. that would be a much better use for it than keeping guns secure.

Re: Cerakote application

I had my eyes on a stack-on gun safe but they wanted $100 for it. I found the pop machine for $40. Plus it is already insulated. All I had to do was add the non-combustible board to the inside.

The wife's oven just got replaced so I might build a bigger oven for doing other large items. Maybe even some powder coating.

Re: Cerakote application

My uncle is a metal framer and he built me a 2x3x5 steal stud box and put insulatin in between the track and stud. When he brings it up we are going to add the oven parts. In trade I have to ceracoat one of his rifles.

$386 for the LPH80 </div></div>

I have purchased 2 LPH-80's from ebay'r Lewisonlineshop_airbrush. He will sell for $280 delivered. We started with a 1.2 have since converted that one to a .8 (that switch will cost you $100 for a needle & nozzle) but will save you some paint. Also, the .8 gives you a slight control edge over the 1.2mm - not a big deal on bolt guns but advantageous on Larue tac type cages etc. Iwata's needles last about 50 jobs, then its time for a new one @ $75. I buy them from Coast Airbrush- they stock every part for the Iwata's.

Once William ships out the 2 .260's... we will be coating them.
