I have venturing into trying CeraKote.
I have used Gunkote several times with no problem and sucess other than not being able to get a true flat sheen.

My question: Is there a better way to measure small quantities of cerakote and hardener than the graduated cylinders in the kit (Brownell's)?

I want to be able to mix small quantities consistently.
I realize that mixing larger quantities would be easier (and more consistent) but if excess is made it gets wasted after the pot life ends.

Any help for a Cerakote rookie is appreciated.

Re: CeraKote Experts ~ Question

Get some plastic 10CC syringes to extract the amount of Cerakote that you need from the bottle and then place that in the mixing container.

The Syringes of Hardener are reasonably easy to use to get 1CC amounts with, but the same principle could be applied by using a 1CC syringe to extract hardener from the 10CC syringe it comes in.

At least that's this rookies method, until someone with more experience posts the better solution.

I made up a quick and dirty spread sheet to do the calculations for me (I'm soooooo lazy that way, and I only had to do the math correctly ONE TIME

) so that I can choose the total amount of product I want and the ratio and it tells me how much of each.

Re: CeraKote Experts ~ Question

I will look for some syringes and smaller cylinders ~ in the mean time I took one of the plastic GS with the kit and cut it down to 35cc ~ allows just enough to fill one small airbrush jar. Thanks.
