Gunsmithing Cerakoting a barrel

I use an ear plug and high heat tape over that. You'll have to cover the threads and barrel ext as well with high heat tape. I would also suggest using H-Series or Gen II C-Series (if you can get some) over the Gen I C-Series.

Heres one more. Take a bullet of the same caliber, and slightly tap it into the muzzle end point first. I know what a lot of you are thinking right about now. The crown!!! The bullet has a cooper jacket. The barrel is steel. You're not going to hurt anything. The Bullet will create a perfect seal, and no Cerakote will get where you don't want it, plus it really protects the crown from blasting.

BTW, I mean just tap it in slightly, not drive it in passed the ogive of the bullet. So don't use a BFH.

I use a wooden dowel rod thats just a tad smaller then the bore and wrap tap around the rod and insert it in the muzzle while blasting and coating. Works great and the same for the chamber end. Then I wrap wire on the rods for hanging in the oven.
