I know absolutely nothing about gunsmithing so forgive me if these are idiotic questions.

I have a Rem. 40X Repeater chambered in 220 swift and I'd like to do two things to it.

1) Re-chamber it to 6.5 Creedmoor
2) Change the internal mag. well to one that can accept an external clip.

Are these things possible and if so does anyone know who can do it and equally important do it well?

Thanks for your help.

No the rifle is absolutely perfect! Not original though. Has a lot of work done to it.

26" Krieger barrel bedded with 1-14 twist
McMillan A3 stock
Jewel trigger
Custom Sako extractor
US Optics glass and rings
Night force base
Harris bipod

Keep in mind this is the way I bought it and it shoots 1/4" MOA easily, however this accuracy is limited to 300 meters. I'd love to shoot out to 800 meters and this bullet is just to light, this is why I want to change.

You're right I could just buy another rifle, however since I don't have the budget for multiple precision rifles I thought it might be more cost effective to just change to the 6.5.

I'm sure there are some on this forum that might think this crazy but don't worry I haven't done anything yet. I simply wanted some expert opinions/honest answers.

</div></div> To shoot the heavy for cal bullits U will need a fast twist barrel. I bought a ruger 77v in swift that still shot very sub moa after 2 k rounds loved hornady 55 gr custom ammo from the 90's .I never cooked it, broke in the factory Douglas barrel with yellow box super X at 4110.

You are going to have to change barrels to get a faster twist or make it a 6.5CM, since that requires a 6.5mm bore (.264 VS .224 of a 220 Swift).
