I throw 42.7g of Varget, then trickle the rest to 43.0 then I dump it in a case. Just to double check my accuracy, I remeasure it by dumping it back in the
chargemaster scale pan. I will read 43.9, most of the time its .01 light and I have to trickle again. Is this common or do I have a calibration issue?

What happens when you let it throw the entire charge completely on its own?

Doing it manually, you're likely stopping as soon as it hits your mark. Thus, it's probably right on the low-side edge of the desired weight.

If you let it run completely automatically, I bet the issue goes away.

Also, be sure that you have a straw inserted in the spout. It will allow for a smoother more predictable powder drop that will likely enhance the accuracy. Without the straw, larger clumps of powder often drop, which may momentarily run the weight up slightly before it settles back on a lesser charge. I think McDonalds and Arby's straws are the correct diameter. Cut to ~2" length, insert, and let it stick out ~1/8" or so... The straw is mandatory. It's illegal to operate the CM without one (or should be).

Is it possible that some powder is getting left in the case?

Sorry, .1
I have the straw mod installed.
The problem is, if you want 43.0g, it will throw 43.0g. But if
you check it on another scale or re scale the charge on the CM, it
will read 42.9. I always have to throw .1 over to read correctly.

Calibrate both and check again.
Is it level?
Has it warmed up?
Are you throwing stick powder (one kernel can be 0.2gr)? (i don't load varget)
Does that 0.1gr really matter or are you being a tad bit OCD?

I say calibrate and if it's consistent, don't sweat it.

My Hornady will drop within +0.1 Gr and will not drop a short load. Interesting is that when it throws a 0.1Gr overthrow, it will beep to indicate completion and the display will revert to the set throw weight. IOW, it drops 43.1, beeps and the display will change from 43.1 to the set charge weight of 43.

Long way of saying you may be dealing with an electronics/programming issue rather than an inaccurate scale.

And yes, 0.1 Gr is nothing in the long run when loading rifle.

Good luck.

So (just curious) if you throw 42.7 with the CM does it weigh 42.7 on the other powder measure?
I am asking because the other measure you're using could be off and not the CM. I have had excellent results using my Charge Master. In fact, I have two of them.

Varget is a bitch to deal with in my chargemaster at any rate. It will throw 4 or 5 good ones then 3 or 4 over. Good powder, but that's the price you pay. Has the OP tried other powders with the same result?
