New to the forum. New to bolt guns. First post.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced($300-$400 or so?) chassis for a Remington 700 ADL chambered in .308.

I'm just getting my feet wet here to see if I can even shoot 400yds. If that's is attainable, I'll go deeper down the rabbit hole.

I've looked at Choate, but the one they have that fits the ADL looks like a brick.

Thanks for ANY help.

I was in the same boat as you a month ago. I dont know which choate you looked at, but you can buy the choate tactical stock inletted for badger dbm at a number of places. Get that, a PTG bottom metal, and an aics 5 rounder and you should land around 400. I dont think mine looks like a brick ?

Wow that's a great looking rig Rebel! I just looked at their website and it doesn't show the one I was looking at. Thanks for your time and input!

No problem! There's alot of good knowledge here. I'm pretty nee too but I've learned a ton about this sport from this site. Stick around, read, and ask respectful questions and you will get all the help you need. At least that's been my experience!

The bell and Carlson is the route I would go. They are in your price range from most places and at the same time you don't have to buy bottom metal or additional parts if you don't have the cash ( or don't want to).

Buy once, cry once is a common motto to hear. Best advice I can give is get a vision of what you want and work towards that.

Good luck

Better make sure those stocks/chassis will work with ADL before you buy.

You can probably shoot to 400 just fine with what you got now. Don't need a fancy new stock to do that.

As posted elsewhere, my favorite replacement stock for Rem 700 is AICS. A bitch to carry, but the most convenient to shoot.

Thank you ALL so much for your input! I ended up with the Choate "Tactical" stock. I spent Saturday afternoon swapping the stock out and installing the new optic. Sunday at the range, I zeroed at 100yds. Now I'm glad I didn't get too crazy with what I spent on the chassis. That money will now go toward reloading equipment. LOL. Where does it end? LOL
