So my local gun dealer had some cheap Wolf brand 308's, 20 for 8.99 a box. I picked up a few boxes for the range. A friend and I went to the range and we were shooting bottle caps at 100yd with some quality ammo. I loaded a few of the wolf's and fired and didn't hit nothing. I couldn't even hit a can. So I set up a shoot and see target and noticed the wolf ammo impacted 3 inches right of my zero. I shot one of the quality rounds and boom, it hit right where I wanted, but the wolf's were always 3 inches right of my point of aim. I know if you zero with one your not zeroed for another and even a change in lot numbers can have an effect, but 3 inches seems like a lot of change to me. Both brands were 180gr same type bullet. Why would it effect my windage that much? Is this normal or should I just say no to cheap ammo?
