Night Vision Cheap rail mount low pro IR laser?

I think I read that some of the early tor were accidentally shipped with visible lasers. Its also listed as "water resistant". Despite that and the scope debacle i was shouted down on the ar15 forum for doubting steiner so ymmv.

I was so dissatisfied with the mid priced laser options I got some tlr eye safes as place holders hoping something better would come out. There's also perst or L3 stuff. That feeling when your trying to chose between eotech, steiner, and Russian quality control.....

Everything I know about the vitale is posted in the commercial thread which is linked to in this post.

It seems like it was created to compete with the PAQ-4c and it is similar in size, weight and function (I had a PAQ-4c for a few years).

Thought I read about issues with that a while back ?
TOR mini - I had a problem with the screws that hold it to the rail snap with not much torque. They fixed, no issue, but I would not trust one to get knocked on a carbine and not snap. Depends on how you treat it, but not in the same class of rugged as other options IMO.

I have had really good luck with the Crimson Trace Rail Master IR and Lasermax Uni IR for cheap, low-profile IR lasers. That said, I never beat on them or used them on anything harsher than a 6.5 Creedmoor gas gun.
I have a rail master IR and like it, but not even a little bit water proof.

I'm new to all this....recently dipped toes in a bit...

Luna Elir3.....comes class I....in 5 seconds you remove filter and = class III full power.

I'm REALLY impressed for $350

What really makes it awesome is being able to adjust beam width and intensity
I love this one too, it is not low profile but a great unit.

You know what else is dangerous if people are down range? Bullets. Be smart about where you point your shit.
The Luna comes off with two finger screws so can be used as a hand held. Since this is a place where novices come to learn it is worth mentioning it can pop eyeballs with the filter removed.

And you know what else is dangerous? Stupidity!

Agreed with all the above.

I have been very careful being a noob and being over the top mindful about capping it since I have filter removed.

You can always add filter back on Luna if desired.

Aiming laser.....not for long range accuracy.

Use it for 50-100 yards would prolly work.

I know you're squared away deersniper and know your shit.

As much as your in the field hunting I know that you would find a use for Luna Elir3 no matter what.

I'm gonna try to use it with my Leupold Mk4 spotter and see how it works.

How do you do that? Hold a pvs-14 up to the spotting scope? Or do you have a clip-on on it or something?

No idea I just know a lot of people do the above.

People also do that with scopes. Some with great luck. There was a guy here years back shooting rabbits at 300 with a 14 behind the scope.

Glass quality and objective is important

I'll be doing a similar setup with a Sionyx behind my Leupold......once I have tested that I'm gonna post a review of the sionyx behind the MK4 and BEHIND a zeroed day optic.

What I can say is that so far the sionyx BEHIND a zeroed day optic has no POI shift and results with Luna Elir 3 have been amazing considering the price point.

You will see a lot of people shitting on the sionyx on YouTube when using with optics hut there's not one vid of someone mounting it behind the optic......I went out on a limb and tried it. I couldn't be happier for the money.

Luna Elir3 is a solid piece of kit that will move on to more top tier rifle systems in the future. The sionyx is a workable solution but not as rugged as other options. Once again though....for the price.... results are amazing

I don't mean to derail but.....this is over 100 yards (I didn't have LRF) ignore impacts being a tad low......this is with Sionyx (poi was same with it off) 77 grain IMI 18 inch woa barrel
