So what is with cheaperthandirt not selling guns anymore and making pmags $59 a pop? I can tell you that it seems like they are rolling over to me and I am not very happy about it!

If it weren't for money the manufacturers of any product that ends up getting banned for civilian sale could just refuse to sell anything to the government contract or not.

I gave up on them long ago for passing their logistics problems on to me with multiple shipping charges on a single order, as well as a lack of shipping options to AK when I lived there. Emailed them to ask about shipping options, no reply. I hope this BS expedites their going under, but I doubt much of their customer base will stop spending with them.

Why should they sell at a price point that people will clear out their stock and through it up for double on Gunbroker.

There whole setup is garbage... Realized that long time ago when I ordered a group of products from them that cost all separate shipping fees (very high) because they where coming from different warehouses. Site was never manged well either, difficult to navigate.
CTD= the dirt they buy for $20/Lb must seem like a deal to them because their prices suck too.

I saw this coming. They did too. They pulled mags to let everyone else run out, played on anti sympathy, then they jacked up the prices. A local store, that had a decent past, now has mags jacked up for the same price.
I refuse to deal with them anymore. When this blows over I will continue to boycott gougers. See, in this environment, they are making a killing on first time buyers. Those folks likely will never buy another one again. I have a buddy that way, he got one pistol during another rush. But me, I'll be buying this shit until I die. If you want to define your customer base as panic buy individuals, good luck when there isn't a panic. Because it is customers like me that keep your asses in business during the rough times.
At least I didn't get caught with my pants down this time around. I don't have as many cool rifles, but all of my shit will be functional long after I'm dead and gone.
Also, hats off still to Rainier Arms. Poor guys are sold the fuck out, completely, but they never gouged during this. Even knocked $2 off reasonably priced mags I bought --said they were mispriced on the site. That is integrity and it is a value I sponsor.
PS, after Gabby Giffords got shot, I ordered FAL mags from CTD, and those bastards had the gall to send me a box of bent up RUST. Totally unusable. But for full price. I sent that shit back. I also recall buying two of those Beta mags from them (yeah, fucking laugh it off) and they mysteriously pulled them after I bought the last two... Then they put 'em up for gouge prices later I find out. This is CTD's MO, this is how they do business. When they see you, they don't see customers for life, they see dollar signs. Fuck them, I hope they go under. Plenty of folks willing to take their business and run it with morals and ethics. I understand supply and demand, but you know what? the supply is THERE! I have 30 of those $60 7.62 Pmags on backorder for LESS than $20 ea. Upon calling Magpul, I find out they will be shipped NLT than end of January.
SO, all the mark ups are SHORT term lack of supply --it is there, it just isn't immediately available (except in CTD's case, where they have plans in place for panic buys and ensuing price gouging it seems). So marking them up as much as five-fold, knowing good and well they have huge backorders themselves due in within a couple of weeks, that is the definition of price gouging the way I see it.
If you spend money with these assholes, you aren't doing us, or yourself, any favors. If you see ridiculous prices, remember where you saw them and don't forget later on. Being a little high or a little markup on prices is one thing. Re-pricing your current stock with three to five-fold markups is entirely another.

As someone else said, the Pmags are just facing a short-term supply shortage. They'll be back. I had been planning to order another 5 pmags prior to the CT shooting, but hadn't gotten around to it. I ended up just placing a backorder on Brownells for ten mags. I don't need them immediately, and I presume Brownells will ultimately fulfill my order (at the regular price, not $50/mag).

I am visiting my parents in IL and went into Scheels sports and they had PMAGS 25 bucks a piece limit 2 per customer. Screw Scheels I will never buy from them.

Reasonably priced Pmags are still out there. My dad saw about 100 Pmags in stock at an Academy Sport in E. Texas on Friday for $14.99/ea.

I kicked CTD to the curb years ago, their in store customer service is just as crappy as their on line.
The store in Ft. Worth (the Original by the way) claims the store and the catalog are two seprate intities, but they have a catalog counter in the store. If you buy a catalog item and in store items you have to go to two different counters to pay for the items.
They act as if they could care less if you buy anything or not.
Besides most of the crap they stock now days is low quality knock offs and factory seconds.
I kicked CTD to the curb years ago, their in store customer service is just as crappy as their on line.
