Check out Erik Cortina's 1.3" 1000yd 5-shot group!

Someone clearly hasn't told him that full length sizing makes inaccurate cartridges.

Edit: shit is truly impressive. I can barely do that at 200 let alone 1,000. I would like to sit with him and watch his loading process first hand.

Most anything I post about loading I learned/learn from Erik.

The seater has me intrigued. I wonder how much better that is than a normal press. I've been reloading for about 10 years, but I kinda figure, with my equipment and ability, I dont think I'm outshooting my methods yet

It’s definitely the best priming tool on market. The price vs your goals is the question you have to ask.

I mentor a few shooters, and this is one common mindset that I hear frequently. It's at least partially flawed, and presents a massive catch-22. How do you know you can't shoot better than you do, if you don't know if your equipment will allow you to?

At any training event I've instructed, I hear what you've said at least once if not ten times. So I grab those shooters that say it, and stick them behind a rifle/optic/ammo combo that I know hammers. Each one of them end up shooting the best groups of their lives. All it takes is one time behind a properly worked out setup... and they see for themselves their equipment is holding them back.

The financial burden associated with really good gear is the main thing holding people back. Were it not for that... everyone would run only the very best. Spending time and spending money are the only ways you can reveal your true potential as a shooter.

I mean the bullet seater. But the primer seater is cool as well.

I get that. I'm a pretty decent shooter. I shoot a factory Howa 308 right now. I have it dialed in and it groups half inch groups consistently. But I still have some problems with positional shooting off props and such. Until I can get that stuff down better, I just feel like spending time and money more practice and more shooting is what will help more than higher end equipment. I don't mind dropping coin on better equipment, but what i have now is a solid shooting setup.

When i get to the point where I'm shooting as good as i want to, I'll rebarrel for something interesting and hammer 1 hole groups all day.
