I come from a Military Family that served before, during and after the American Revolution. We stood the watch, nothing special just stood the watch, it is an insult to all that have served to Bloviate about events that did not happen or qualifications that we're not earned.

I lost a good friend during the Pandemic, his funeral, only 5 were allowed, so sad. I knew him over thirty years, he had burn scars on his left arm but never mentioned them, he was in Vietnam, never talked about it, his Obit, he had a Bronze Star with a V, he stood the watch, did his duty and moved on. My BIL has a Purple Heart citation but no medal, left it on the bed of the hospital ship, took a job as a door gunner while his foot healed, he did not think his wound mattered compared to the other Marines in his unit, he stood the watch and meets with the dwindling surviving members of his unit every year. His twin brother was an Air Lift EMT, copter crashed just after dropping off a patient at the hospital, killed both pilots, put him in rehab for 1.5 years, he got back on the horse and did his job until retirement.

Stolen Valor should not be Tolerated it insults everyone that Stood the Watch.

As far as the recon thing goes, he likely was bullshitting you as many assume that the combination of these two skill badges:

means that the wearer is/was part of a USMC reconnaisance unit. In reality, all they mean is that the wearer attended the appropriate schools and recorded the required number of jumps and dives in the appropriate duty assignments to qualify for the Naval Parachutist Badge and Naval Scuba Diver badge.

Those two are not, by themselves, representative of duty in a Marine Recon billet.

I remember his dive pin was gold. While in the chow line overseas waiting on OIF to kick off, folks would ask him about his pins. He would tell everyone that only those that had "X" amount of combat dives were allowed to wear the gold pin. He always walked around with his Recon hoodie wearing his UDT shorts. I could write pages of all the BS he told folks. He did not work for me directly. We were both under 3rd MAW but we were assigned to different commands. He was filling an APT billet at MAG-11 HQ. As I said, I think he started believing his own crap. After he was outed and made to take the stuff off of his uniform for his last 10 days or so before he retired, he was caught two more times wearing all the same stuff again. It was like he just didn't understand why he was made to take off his pins and ribbons. They should have followed through with their original plan and hammered his ass and maybe that would have put an end to his grandeur.

I find it unfortunate that both that the GoTGB and the SAF ran this story before my independent investigation of the matter had one single FOIA or other records requests completed.

For initiating this independent investigation, I was removed from online (FB) Special Forces groups that could assist in validating information.

It is by my direction that Blaine Campbell shared the only substantiated information (documents shown on SSD) and directed him to issue an immediate retraction and apology, that was conditionally private, until my complete investigation was concluded.

Blaine has stated to me events and details that would lead any rational observer would conclude that his story, while not likely, was possible. A story the multiple FOIA and other records requests would validate his story as patently false or true.

The twitch reaction to offer this maladroit and impulsive story in-front of the online "Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition" might show ulterior motives.

CheyTac USA has pending litigation with several infringers of protected technologies, patents, and trademarks.

I have made this statement without the direction or even knowledge of Blaine Campbell or the owners of CheyTac USA.

My guess is that now it will be out my ability to influence.

That is some big boy business implications that you just essentially lined out in writing that these "outing" organizations done/could of done so falsely on Blaine at the request of one or a number of the companies that CheyTac USA is suing.

May want to run that one by the CheyTac USA legal team, IMO.

The early CheyTac rifles are largely EDM rifles. Put a barrel shroud and a handle on an EDM and it looks like a CheyTac.

So back in the founding days it was Cheytac & Associates...that is important in the real history of what is todays era of "CheyTac".

The original 408CT test rifle was called the Prometheus and was built on a standard bolt action receiver in a big McM stock.

After successful testing and proving the 408CT (NOT THE SAME AS CURRENT CARTRIDGE BTW) the desire to have EDM chamber their windrunner in the cartridge for testing was reached.

EDM manufactured 25 Windrunners chambered in the 408CT.

Cheytac & Associates took delivery of IIRC 7 and then took 2 down to Briley in Houston to manufacture them in attempts to cut EDM Arms out of the deal. We are talking like a 2 year timespan of testing the EDM built "Cheytac" guns in the 408CT of all this debacle.

The over the barrel bipod and barrel shroud was not EDM design; it actually came from one of the "Associates" companies of Cheytac & Associates called Sniping Operations Executive. It was manufactured by Becker Machine & Tool in MN.
During this timeframe Cheytac & Associates operated out of a gas station in Arco ID.

Long story short, there was a 22 or 25 million dollar lawsuit back and forth between EDM Arms and Cheytac & Associates that drug out for a few years with both companies making their version of the Windrunner chambered in 408CT. It was eventually agreed upon and dropped with understanding that both entities will continue to do what they were currently doing.

Also, the 375CT was not designed nor tested by Cheytac & Associates at all, lol.....Cheytac did not start using that name and cartridge until about 4 years after we were shooting rifles built by Lawton Machine.
The 375CT was originally called the 375 No Name and were all built on Lawton 8000 actions.

I bring that up because it IS most definitely going to be called into evidence of these current CheyTac USA lawsuits against other companies for using the term 375 and 408 CheyTac.

The original 408CT was significantly better ballistics than the current 408CT version.
The original pushed the 419gr mono at close to 3200fps compared to the current version of 2850.
When the decision was made to "water" the original version down due to a couple pressure spike instances is when we started looking for its' replacement. That replacement was the 375 No Name.

I have the original 375 No Name cartridge drawings, the 2nd rifle ever built for it and boxes of documents and testing information that shows the name "Cheytac" had absolutely ZERO to do with that cartridge.

Pretty sure I have picture of my rifle with the Bound Book entry date from Lawton Machine showing the manufactured date next to one of the gun rag covers "debuting" the 375CT that shows about a 4 year time difference, lolol

Two "Stolen Valor" experiences when I was in

Kid on MSG...claimed he was with a special unit on a "Top Secret" Air Force AIRCRAFT CARRIER. Was wearing ribbons he didnt rate and invented the fantasy to explain his ribbons. Guess he never thought anyone would ever question his rack but in the USMC at that time if you had more than one ribbon you looked like Audie Murphy and peeps wondered.

The bullshit was so deep it was awful. We mercilessly mocked him in the detachment. When standing post we would have a name card displayed on the desk. The back of his card was savaged with graffiti regarding his tales.

I dont know why but the Master Guns Det Commander only counseled him.

Second was after getting called back for GWI. we were casualty replacements going through advanced infantry training in Pendelton getting prepped to ship to Iraq if casualty numbers required fresh meat.

One of the IRR call backs was writing his family telling he was in the Gulf the entire time. When we were cut loose and told to go home I noted the kid putting 3-4 rows of ribbons on his blues.

I told him not in my presence, Ill rip that shit off your chest if I see it again.

Guessing at the airport he donned his blue neck ribbon.

"Stolen Valor" is an apt term for this kind of thing. What insecure, fragile egos and deceiptful natures they must have, to stoop so low.

Before I really knew better, thirty years, ago, I had a roommate who managed a pub. I'd go there to eat and drink for cheap. Their was a Jabba the Hutt, looking fellow that frequented. Briley actually does a good amount of OEM work that has nothing to do with shotgun tubes/chokes.
One would be surprised at the pistol and rifle parts they make, lol.

I remember when he lost those rifles. The news reported it but it wasn't much more than "a couple of sniper rifles lost". I could just see a bunch of pick-up trucks swarming I-10 looking for rifle cases on the side of the road.

I wondered how this could happen. I picture in my mind, someone forgot to put the tailgate up and they just slid out and bounced down the road. My brain instantly starts thinking this is a coverup and someone sold them, but I'm always thinking about "what's really going on".

From my understanding, JFKSWCS is putting together a policy on this. Since SF service is different for different time frames and the SFQC has changed a bunch of times, there can be confusion. From my understanding Vietnam era gets one set of rules, until SF branch another, pre GWOT and then post GWOT. But the title of Green Beret would require X amount of team time. Tab orders and MOS Q non withstanding.

I imagine DD214's get fucked up all the time...mine was. By the time I got to out-processing for retirement I was like "just let me get the fuck out of here before I kill someone". They started messing with me over my time in service and I said screw it, I'm not retiring . That got some panties in a bunch. While they were busy gnashing their teeth I noticed they had a bronze service star for a combat jump on my senior parachutist badge. I was so pissed off I just wanted to leave so wasn't about to go through another ordeal trying to correct it. I've never claimed nor worn the star, but DD214's are only as good as the SP4, on a Friday afternoon, that typed them up.
