An American I know who travels there for 2 yr stints to teach English to rich kids is now hoping his host family can finagle a way of sneaking into Taiwan so they can flee. The family owns a bunch of factories in China and fears they too will burnt down soon. But escaping is difficult now due to EXIT BANS by the CCCP who has greatly cracked down on the Chinese people in recent years...even jailing people for writing songs with lyrics the government dislikes. I can't imagine having to abandon my businesses and flee the country under risk of being imprisoned like this. Yeesh!
The only up side is, bombing us won't make us buy stuff.

China's global exports are around 3.5 Trillion dollars a year
Basically trade with the USA is about 15% of their total export output.
Let's say stuff is rerouted and actually is double that, so max 30%
Bad but not end of the world bad.
China is the #3 buyer by $ amount of USA goods so it's not like things will be pain free here for the folks that export and sell stuff to China and that work for companies that do or have investments in them.

No you cant! Think about everything you use daily. The phone or computer you type on, the servers hosting your post. The utility transformers keeping your lights on. The gps in your car. The TV, the washing machine controllers, the remote. I could go on and on about all the shit you use without thinking about it. How do you scan your debit card? How does the gas pump work? What do you put water in? We are way more dependent on them. You're a fool to think otherwise!!
