My opinion, those bombers would never get close enough to drop any bombs on one of our aircraft carriers ....

Two possibilities why they are doing this...

    1. Orwell style ultranationalistic rally to quell massive internal criticism and anger over WuFlu mass quarantines and new lockdowns.

    2. To show that they are "not really on Biden's side"... Kind of defeats the purpose as China CCTV-4 ran an entire 1 hour program earlier this morning praising Biden...

I agree, also since they have Biden, they feel "emboldened" .... aka old guy won't do shit if we decide to move. I think they are playing both sides of the propaganda coin if you will.

IF....I ran this country, and I really don't have any issue with the Chinese people, just the regime. I would activate, place back into service, our strategically placed nukes. Then in Nebraska/Kansas somewhere, construct a 400'-500' tall, 100'-150' wide, concrete 🖕, so every time one of their satellites flew over, they could read the placard, which would says "F.U. you commie bastards!" Mac

The funny thing about the people, they have enough civilians to overthrow the Communist bile, but they just sit back and let it play out.

The comment about the Chinese people being able to change their form of government is true, but it wouldn't be easy. This is going to be the ultimate test of which is the stronger system of government. We have a society built on the concept of natural rights and individual freedom (even if it doesn't always seem like that). The Chinese have a soul crushing authoritarian totalitarian dictatorship where all privileges come from the state and there is absolutely zero freedom. If the Chinese win, that will be the way the entire world will be. Competition usually shows the better system, so which will it be?

    Ask Chairman Xiden.
That's scary, isn't it? It's not a pleasant thought, that the entire world becomes a dystopian police state ruled by a dictator, all because of one man's personal corruption. When one thinks of what a miserable existence the entire human race would endure, it's almost hard to imagine the USA really just giving in.

That fat slow bomber is going nowhere near a U.S. Carrier group. I'm pretty sure the F-18 Super Hornets on board that carrier would have something to say about it. I'm also sure that the destroyers and other ships that protect carriers are more than capable of shooting down a slow ass bomber.

So true. But oddly enough its not just Commie China. Ive travelled a ton in Mexico and Central America. Mexico has a constitution not unlike ours but I see that most of the Mexican people dont have the same concept, or experience of freedom, that I have. Its subtle but its there. I havent been to Europe since a kid but from what I see its similar there; They are just a couple generations away from monarchy.

Depending on the out come I could foresee another 'Dark Age' coming. More attention needed at the "Prayer Thread" perhaps.

    Good bless Freedom.

Oh, I agree most don't have to the concept of freedom our Founders bequeathed us. However, I don't think any other society, with the exception of perhaps North Korea, has become quite the Orwellian always watching everything society China has become. With their system of "social credit" and constant 24 hr observation, the word dystopian certainly fits. Can they do that to the rest of the world? Will we allow it? I guess that remains to be seen.

They are doing their best with help from the likes of George Soros. Why dont people see that he made his money like a parasite trading on the futures of other countries currency, now hes doing the same with ours and trying to 'break the bank' and cash in.

Yes, the outcome remains to be seen. Im glad Im not 18 right now.

Fuck Chinese food too. Thai food is much better and teh Thai people are a joy to deal with.

    Fuck the Chicoms.
back in the 90s or late 80s, i had to travel to china's new territories (by way of hong kong) to visit a factory owned by a huge conglomerate.
i was sort of looking forward to having some "authentic" chinese food, although i am not inclined to eat any "funny stuff".
so i let the factory management know that after my visit i would take all of them out to dinner at any place they chose, price not important.
gosh i was really excited. seriously....

    they chose pizza hut. :ROFLMAO:

I almost made it to China in the 90s. My company was going to go there as a consultant for one of their projects. Things were looking good but then the BoD shot it down.
    bummer.
i wouldn't spend my own money to revisit places i have been for work, except the UK where i lived long enough to have mates, but it was very cool to see why america is so much better then anyplace else, and having work pay for it.

I had a guy come over from Switzerland who was trying to sell my company a safety system. I was tasked with evaluating it. He told me how much different the US is than his home country. Just ordering a hamburger, he was amazed at how it came with LTM and onions if you asked for it. According to him, when he orders a hamburger he has to pay extra for each and every item put on that burger. You have to pay for every refill, coffee or soda. You can only drive in the left lane when passing. You must go back into the lane from which you came or you could get a traffic ticket. He went on and on about it. I don't know if he was feeding me a line or things are really like that.

it has been a while since i was back in the UK, but when i lived there, you had to pay 5p for a packet of ketchup/catsup.
i had people visit from the UK and AUS and it was hilarious. the girls from down under filled their purses with hot sauce from taco bell.

if you've ever been in the kitchen of a chinese restaurant, you wouldn't either

    Oh im QUITE aware...

Ive been to China. Chinese restaurants in the USA are the epitome of clean compared to restaurants in China...

i dont know about the burger thing, but the drink refills for free is a pretty American thing. MOST of the world, including a lot of Europe, doesnt have fountain soda, its all can or bottle. So you obviously pay for each refill because its another can or bottle. I was with a co-worker in Canada and we sat at this diner and drank coffee and bull shitted for like 2 hours... we didnt realize each refill of coffee was 25c... not a big deal, but we didnt realize it.

while i am sure it is different in large cities, a typical small town movie theater in the 90s would not even have ice or anything that required refrigeration. they might have cans of soda, at room temperature. and in wales where i lived, the popcorn was sweet and not buttered and salty.
so sweet popcorn and tepid soda. yeah, welcome to the 3rd world, lol.

at a restaurant, i would ask for iced tea and they didn't know what that was.

It is to a great degree. It's different than here and it's really pretty good. The reason(s) on the food situation is that Switzerland has a population of 8.6 million people (the US has 330 million). They do not have vast farming tracts that can produce food that goes into massive warehouses, stored (frozen, where appropriate), then shipped out to "supermarkets" (as we know them here). Much of their produce comes from adjoining countries, Hungary being one of the larger providers. Shipping costs make up a significant portion of the selling price of food, particularly produce. We have seen a few "Supermarkets", but they are always in the larger urban centers (Zurich, Lausanne, Geneva, etc.). We haven't been into any of them. No need, we spend our time in the smaller markets. The smaller markets are plentiful and at most train stations, very convenient. "Coop" is the largest/most common chain/market in Switzerland.

As a result, food is much fresher and it's been processed a whole bunch less. When you check in to a hotel under a "half board" reservation (which is common), it includes dinner (and usually breakfast). When checking in, it is common for them to also hand you a menu where you select from two, maybe three selections (all good). They also tell you the hours of the dining room (usually 5:30 to 8:30 or 6:00 to 9:00 PM) and you also reserve your time along with your meal when checking in. They really don't have menus that have dozens of items on them. Culturally, they eat very well and the local/traditional dishes/food are outstanding. And, they waste very, very little. A concept mostly unknown in the states, we take that for granted.

My wife and I have vacationed in Switzerland many times and far prefer the culture there, compared to here. Contrary to what your Swiss gentleman may have seemed to indicate, I feel much more freedom in Switzerland. No one messes with you, they are a VERY civil society, crime is not at all common and people are (reservedly) friendly and stay out of other's business. It is very unusual to see Police anywhere, except under unique circumstances. The Swiss are a very well behaved society.

oh and also in wales, it took 5 real estate places to find a house to rent that had a shower.
by the time i went to the 4th one, word was already out that there was "an american that didn't want to take baths".
this daily showering is also very american, as heating water is not as cheap overseas.

Read "The Last Stand of Fox Company"

About Fox 2/7 at Toktong Pass.

Same enemy but today they have better weapons.

I question if this country still produces the men of iron will that dug in on that mountain.

We better get our shit together.

You really should only drive in the passing lane if you’re passing. If you’re on an empty highway, and you’re in the left lane, you are the problem. You can and SHOULD be ticketed for floating in the passing lane.
Maybe they have to pay for refills of soda, but you know what they don’t have? An obesity pandemic.

The Autobahn is a wonderful thing ;)

When everyone knows how to drive, and how to stay out of the passing lane when they’re not passing, you don’t need speed limits.
The first time I drove the Abahn, I was intimidated for aboutthe first 15 minutes. I figured it out from there/observation and it was exhilarating/fantastic ! Absolutely loved it !
