choosing a bullet for 6 creed

I seem to remember hearing about the 110 smk back when folks were running the 6 creed hot and fast a few years ago, but haven't heard anything about it recently. I'm thinking about trying them, or the 109 eld-m for an affordable wind cheater when things are blowing a bit. Anyone have any real world experience loading either one? Are they relatively easy to make shoot?

I could never get the SMK to shoot consistently in my 6 Creed. I hae had great results with 110 ATip, 109 Berger LRH and the 109ELD. The Berger and the ATip have better BCs and will perform better past 600 yards or so, but the ELD has worked for me, too.

The 110 SMK is a great bullet but can be finicky to find the sweet spot and do require a bit more twist to stabilize them. I've had great success with 115 DTAC. If considering the DTAC try buying them in bulk as lot to lot may have variations. The Berger 109 is an exceptional bullet but its popularity makes it hard to find sometimes.

I've always wanted to try the 110 SMK but they were always so hard to find, I just started using 115 Dtacs and never stopped.
It was cold as balls the other day and I went out to double check ammo from last year, to see how my temp swings were.

Spit this 3 rounder out cold bore.

There is a lot of support for the 105s. When I started shooting 6 Creedmoor all I could get was the 115VLD. I point it and only run it at about 2830 from a 22" barrel. My bc matches to about .310 G7. I'm basically shooting a 6.5 ballistically but with less recoil.

My current 6CM barrel loves the 108 ELD-M, and shoots the 107SMK decently. It was a lot more difficult to get the SMK to shoot well, and the optimal window is much smaller.

Barrels are individuals however.

Highly suggest a .243 cal hybrid, 107 smk, dtac, or eldm. All get the job done just fine. Comes down to availability for me.

Other than the .223 53 gr VMAX I like for coyotes for a 5.56 AR, I have shifted to shooting only Berger bullets due to the consistency and primarily VLD's. I do like the 300 gr Hybrid OTM's for the 338 Lapua Ackley Improved but it's VLD for everything else from 223 Ackley to 300WM

I have 2-6CM's, a GA Precision w/Bartlein barrel and an RPR with a White Oak Wilson barrel. The Berger 108 is what I mostly use as it shoots very well and is more often in stock compared to the 105. The Sierra 107 shoots just as well and when in stock is less expensive than the Berger. Just for grins I got some factory 2nds from Midsouth, Hornady's ???, and they shoot ok when sorted.

I have been using 110SMK in 6Creed for years.
Hornady brass, ADI2209(4350) and 110SMK at 2970fps hammer and give good visible impacts at distance.
As you say, an affordable high BC 6mm projectile that shoots great.
Note - they like to jump, somewhere 50-70thou in my experience (I think Mark from SAC made comment on this in a PRB post somewhere).
A good fun projectile on steel out at 1000

Side note, 110SMK also run great in my 6Dasher with same charge weights as 105Hybrids and at 50thou jump
