I've always been partial to the XTRs but this recent build has left me in a bit of a jam. I'm mounting a NF with a 56mm obj on a Savage 308. Already have the 20 MOA base. The problem is, the XTRs won't give me the optimal clearance that I'm looking for. The lows won't work by a hair, leaving the mediums a little high, but still acceptable. Vortex and Seekins, however, have rings right in the ballpark of what I need.

Do I go with what gives me the best clearance or get the XTRs and adapt to them?

EDIT: FWIW, I need a set that's right at or close to .87" from top of rail to centerline.

I'd get the rings that are gonna fit the best.If your partial to the XTR's but have to get something else, upgrade then'.Just my .02cents.Goodshootin'

Get a set of Seekins .87" height. Sounds like exactly what you need.

That sounds like good advice. Maybe in the future Burris will offer some different options.

Btw, Rob, not sure if you noticed but next month you will have wasted a full 10 years of your life on this board

Keep it up. Is there gonna be a party and cake? I really just care about the cake to be honest.

No party or cake as I have already wasted more than 10 years. I was on before Frank did a revamp and reset the dates so it's more than 10 years already. Maybe at 20

Holy hell! I didn't even think the internet has been around that long. So when you first discovered the hide, is this what you were using?

Actually that was the second computer I had after discovering the Hide. Here I am working the first one trying to post on a Rem vs Savage thread

Hahaha I was gonna post that one but I figured no one would know what the heck it was. Looks kinda like a life size game of Lite Brite.
