Crazy thing is these weren't supposed to ship to me until 12/17. Heard a thump on porch and UPS just dropped the box off. No signature necessary! Thank god I was home.

Initially amazed at the weigh. Maybe barely heavier than my pvs14 in a vyper housing.

Articulation arms are solid and the IPD spacing screws are simple and easy to set.

I think that's the main difference. They use PVS-14 objective lens setups as well, which I think would be glass instead of polycarbonate, and the lemo port is on the back instead of the side which allows the pods to roll up more easily.

I'm really impressed with them, but this is my first experience with filmless, and all I've done so far is walk around the house looking like an idiot. Will report back once we get some real time behind them.

Quick question, just so I know what we’re talking about — are these the MIN 2376 FOM agency purchase units straight from L3 or the MIN 1792 FOM from EOTech.

It’ll say right on the paperwork.

They're from L3 but only the 1792 min fom unfortunately. That being said they blow away an 1800 fom green tube I have, so I suspect they're still very good. A few pepper specs that might disqualify from being an agency tube.

I have a friend locally who has a set of 31a goggles so we can try to do a comparison. That is my understanding as well. The housing looks like the same size, so im guessing his COTI would fit the 1531 housing as well.

L3 doesnt send spec sheets for the milspec tubes. I can only compare them to some pvs14 green tubes we had on hand and the l3 tubes smoked them.

With the gain cranked all the way up in my pitch black basement, the tubes barely got noisy. We had one of Jays SNR filters on hand and it barely cleaned the image up on these tubes, where on my pvs14 it makes a huge difference! His stuff is awesome, im not trying to discredit it, i just dont think I would trade the slight tint they apply for the impact the filter had on the 1531s.

2376 are restricted. 1792 (or whatever the MIN FOM is on the .CIV units) are legally available. Strong probability you’ll get a 2376 spec unit, but might have a speck somewhere that otherwise booted a tube from 2376 qualification.

In short, great binos for the buck.

You summed it up nicely. The tube on the right of each goggle do have two specs on the border of Zone 2 and 3 that probably kicked it from their DOD 2376 guarantee line however the overall performance of the tube, at least to my eye, is pretty comparable to other 20UM tubes.

I can tell you that when I go out driving at night with my PVS 14, which is not an adjustable gain model since it's a little older, I can't drive on back roads without fog lights or at least some type of ir illuminator. With these goggles I don't even have to crank the gain halfway up, I can still see everything well enough to drive at relatively high speeds with close to no ambient light.

Yes same COTI adapter for both the 31's and 1531's.

Get ready for some more photos. Tried to capture some shots with the gain cranked up and down with @WillHugh

No moon last night or ambient light in the woods. The snow cover helped make walking easy by providing some reflecting on the ground. Didnt need IR to navigate since gain around 2/3 provided enough visibility.

Pics 1-4 show the different vies with gain at full and all the way down.

Pics 5-6 are a few shots with the illuminator on and gain around 30% of max.

Pics 7-9 are looking out over about 15 miles. There is a hospital campus at the base of the hill.

I had a PEQ15 and DBAL A2 with me to compare the FP illuminators. The A2 is amazingly clean. It would be a great long range illuminator with a clip on. It smokes the PEQ15 and has a slight edge over the Perst 3 I have.

Thanks. I was wondering how that particular laser/Illuminator stacked up to the Perst-3. Any chance if your out you could get a picture of the IR pointer next to the Perst’s and one with the illuminators next to each other?

I found it interesting your comment about the A2 vs P-3 with specs on the Perst illuminator vs A-2...

Doesn’t surprise me, just curious. Not many good side by sides on those two.
