Cigar thread 2.0

I think this one has been aging for 10+ years. Time to burn her down. Happy 4th Gents.

First try of this one. Not bad at all for no age on it.
I agree, I think they're very good sticks for the money. If you're enjoying it, check out the variety packs below for an inexpensive (about $30 a pack) way to explore their offerings (depending on your taste preferences). Should be gtg to smoke right out of the package too.

I have been doing the Privada Clib for the past couple years. Very good. The Farmers roll subscription can be hit or miss, but the hits are spot on, in a big way. I got a Flathead Sparkplug in one a couple months back. Made the whole month worth it.

Tapping into the knowledge here...

Are there any good big cigar warehouse places left? I heard JR closed down their big warehouse in NC (to walk-ins) and their other retail locations. I can mailorder, but I like to graze and browse! There was one near Allentown, PA. But I think it's gone. And is off my route. I used to love the one in NC that was (IIRC) at I40 and I81-ish.

Any good (Huge!) cigar warehouse places left? I have a drive coming up in a couple of weeks from the Northeast down to the OK City area via OH and St Louis.. anything on the way?

Cheers! Sirhr

I've never had a problem with Cigars International (https://www.cigarsinternational.com/). They have a rather large store in Hamburg, PA (right next to the Cabelas- although my opinion of what Cabela's has become is for a different thread). In PA... I think the other store they have is in either Allentown or Bethlehem but I've only been to the Hamburg location and participated in their Cigarfests in the Poconos up until COVID caused them to stop those events. I do believe that they have locations in some other states though.

I wish you the best of luck but for both mail-order and visiting, the best I can recommend is Cigars International and if you can hit Hamburg, PA- I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Another option for the "big cigar warehouses" at least for ordering online that I've used for many years without any complaints is Smoking Pipes out of SC. They have a show room in Little River, SC too apparently but I've never been there.

With all that said- if you should find yourself traveling down I-81 and are willing to roll the dice on a small shop primarily focused on pipes (one of the few that's left). You might be pleasantly surprised visiting JM Boswell's in Chambersburg, PA (https://boswellpipes.com/). They also have a location in Alexandria, PA but I haven't personally been to that. Full disclosure- it's far from a 'mega' warehouse type of location but one that punches far higher than you'd expect. From the SH angle- the first time I visited their Chambersburg location (you can't make this up), there was a group of 'regulars' at the table to the left of the front door working out a deal to sell a Glock while puffing on their pipes and while I was talking to the owners about why I made the drive there/what I was looking for/etc. we somehow got into a conversation with the firearm they kept in the business (not trying to get too detailed about that part) and had a fairly long chat just on that matter.

Anywho- might not be what you're looking for but true pipe shops are something else (I'm an admitted pipe smoker and they have some killer blends they make in house that are well known amongst the pipe smoking community) but they also have a good cigar selection and (without knowing your personal tastes) you might enjoy their self branded bundles (details can be found at their website that I linked) as they're pretty tasty for the price point.

Good luck in your hunt and please let us know how you make out.

Holt's has two Philadelphia locations you might consider. JR used to have a great store in NJ which was great to wander around, but no more.

The JR in Burlington, NC was still open in the spring when we went up to VA beach. We went in and bought quite a bit of stuff.
