I was taking some pictures of this Colt Python of mine today to sell it, when I realized it was so nice that if someone else was selling it I would probably buy it! I never shoot it because it's pretty and would require cleaning after, and I am not a fan of cleaning guns. But I got some really good shots of it and I thought I would share.

When I get a chance, I need to take some shots next to the 6" Nickel Python I have. They make quite the pair...

Re: Colt Python badassery...

Those sure are sweet revolvers. I'd love to have one, except I'd beat it all up. I had to sell a beautiful S&W 41 for the same reason.

I love that Colt royal blue - gorgeous.

Wow, if you ever sell that I'd buy it in a heart beat! I have a 6 inch colt anaconda that is a sweet shooter. I hate colt stopped making these fine fine fine firearms.

Great lookn gun. I have one that was was left to me by my grandfather. He carried it everyday while running payroll back in the eary 60's. Still in great shape though it has some holster wear.

Yes. The way this he wrote it sounds to me like he realized he shouldn't sell it. Sorry its not how you read it and thanks for your useless comment!

Re: Colt Python badassery...

before selling it because you don'like cleaning it "after": if you spray your revolvers "before" shooting with a product used by the welders, named ANTI_SPLATTER, after the shooting session you will find that a pass with a rag and some petroleum will remove all the dirt, the lead & burned powder d usually encrusted on any revolver after shooting_The anti-splatter spray don't harm the blue, nickel, chrome, neither inox,of course,finish_ Never tried inside the barrel or the chambers, nor I will , but outside that,if sprayed BEFORE SHOOTING,I think you will find yourself keeping your Pythons_

That is absolutely a beautiful handgun. It is a shame that you have not derived any pleasure from shooting it. It is like having a super model, extremely beautiful girlfriend, and just showing her as a trophy, instead of making love to her 5 or 6 times a day because she is so sexy.

I still find my colt just as pretty and fun to shoot.

Re: Colt Python badassery...

You will always regret selling the Python.

I have a nickel 6", my first center fire handgun. I don't care what it's worth or who wants it, it's staying with me.

Thankfully my wife shoots it like there is no tomorrow, it's her house gun.

Re: Colt Python badassery...

the tip come from learning, from a muzzleloader friend, to spray antisplatter on aluminium lee molds, making bullets for my .44s_in this case the antisplatter, sprayed on the molds before pouring the lead, help the bullets to fall down when you open the molds, whitout hassles, even if the mold is brand new_I have seen that any lead splat on the sprayed mold comes off easily, and if you think about the hassle scraping off the burning marks on a blued revolver cylinder face & sides, you will really apreciate this tip_ I advise to push a little cotton ball on both sides of the barrel and on the chambers before, removing them after coating the revolver, even if I,personally, don't worry about that, and I'm happily shooting my blued pre-f'kin-safety-lock S&Ws until I'm alive _ Enjoy !

Re: Colt Python badassery...

Owned a 4" Python bought new in `76/7. They were hard to find. Also owned a nickel S&W 19, 2.5" Found I preferred the lockwork of the S&W better.

Sold the Python in `82 and never a regret. Bought a cherry S&W 27 and it is way more than the Python cosmetics ever were. They are sexy handuns with the vent rib. Almost traded the K frame 2.5" for a 2.5" Python, but sanity prevailed. My brother had a Diamondback 4" that was very nice. Never bought another Colt revolver...
