Concerns with light load? 6 Dasher

I shot my 6 Dasher this past year with 32gr of Varget and a Berger 108BT going 2946 (fast barrel I think). I decided to slow it down a little like a lot of guys are currently doing. I found that 30.5 shot very well at 2838 with an SD of 6.5 over 15 shots. Now my question is, what does not enough powder look like or what do I need to look for? At 30.5 I'm in BR territory in a Dasher. Any concerns or GTG? TIA

That load isn’t doing any harm, saving barrel life. If it holds together at the distance your wanting to shoot what’s the difference of 100 FPS.

You’ll find that many (most possibly) of the top comp shooters are in the 2775 - 2850 area with BR and BR variants. And that means in the 30-32gr area.

I’m running 33.3 varget in my 6gt which is pretty light as well.

Im at 2850 with a 115 and 31.4gr varget. I found that anything over 32gr and 2900+ for me gives heavy bolt lift and loosens primer pockets even with the 105s.

I generally tell people that 31.x grains is a go to spot but if you found it half a grain lighter and are still getting 2850 then Id say you found the golden spot (assuming it stil shoots nice groups at distance but its a dasher so how could it not?)

You've done exactly what I'm setting up for right now. Changed from the BR to the Dasher and plan to run it at the speeds mentioned by Dthomas. I don't expect any adverse effects given how many folks are running the Dasher at that speed.

You're good to go, I run 31.2GN of varget with a 105 and gets me 2890 on a 27" barrel, shot it in rain, snow, dust and mud and never had any pressure issues.
That's the beauty of the Dasher you can run 2750 or 2950 if you want, all will run with no issued if a properly cut chamber.

Thanks for the info guys! Just for clarification I wasn't concerned about the speed, just case volume. Guys running the speed I'm running now are typically still in the 31.xx range. But after seeing the responses I think I'll be alright!

If you want BR speeds why would you move to the dasher and have to deal with that short neck ?

Because I got pressure at those speeds while at a rainy match. I'll be able to get the same speeds and never worry about pressure again.
